Man City were praised by many fans for the quality of their reserve players in the 1-0 win over Chelsea in round 37 of the Premier League.

The day before the match, Man City became the champions of the 2022-2023 season. Therefore, coach Pep Guardiola gave the opportunity to the players who were not regular starters to play against Chelsea. He put the pillars on the bench, including Ederson, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan, Jack Grealish, Rodri, De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.

According to the Sun , the above mentioned reserve players cost Man City about 600 million USD in transfer fees, and are the most expensive reserve squad in the world.

One fan asked if this was the best substitutes in a football match. Another fan said: "City's substitutes are definitely the greatest substitutes in football history." Meanwhile, another fan insisted that these substitutes would win the Champions League.

Man City started the match with a reserve team, but still won all three points. Julian Alvarez scored the only goal against Chelsea in the 12th minute. After the match, Man City lifted their fifth Premier League title in six seasons under coach Pep Guardiola and the ninth national championship in the club's history.

Man City currently lead the 2022-2023 Premier League with 88 points after 36 games, seven points ahead of Arsenal and having played one game less. If they win their final two games, Guardiola's team will have 94 points, one more than last season's achievement.

The title just won is Man City's third consecutive Premier League title. They become the second English team to achieve a similar feat, after Man Utd.

On June 3, Man City will play the FA Cup final against Man Utd. On June 10, they will play the Champions League final against Inter. If they win both matches, Man City will become the second English team to win the treble, after Man Utd in the 1998-1999 season.

Outside England, six other clubs have won the treble: Barca, Bayern, Celtic, Ajax, PSV and Inter. Barca and Bayern have won the treble twice.
