Race against deadline to make money

About half a month until Tet, with the goal of earning more money, Nguyen Anh Duc (25 years old, living in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) - head of the game image creation team - is working harder to complete his main job at the company and 3 outsourced projects.

During the day he still works for the company. At night he runs extra projects outside.

“Sometimes the project is too urgent, I have to take a few days off from work, sometimes a whole day to meet the deadline and then make up for it on the weekend. When there is no time to make up for it, it is normal to stay up a few nights and then sleep in later,” Duc said.

This led to a serious decline in health. Duc lost 2kg in 3 days. He ate hastily, his spirit was lethargic and especially the feeling of constant sleepiness made Duc irritable and lose his temper.

Whenever he encountered file errors or customers blaming him, he would collapse. Although he was very tired, thinking that Tet was near, Duc tried his best to complete his work.

Similarly, Cong Notary (23 years old, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) shared that he works at a media company from 9am to 6pm every day. After work, he delivers food from 6pm to 11pm before taking a break. When there are many orders, he also takes advantage of his lunch break to work extra.

“There is a lot of work, but in return I have more income to prepare for Tet, buy gifts for my family and take care of personal expenses. I am also saving up to start a business next year, so I have to work even harder,” Chung boasted.

Bring money home to mom

This is the goal of Ngoc Han (22 years old, in Tien Giang) this Tet season. "I want to give my mother a new ao dai and some money for her to spend during Tet and I'm sure she will be very happy when I do that," Han shared.

To achieve that goal, during this period, after working overtime at the company until 8pm, Han would return home and work on outside projects until night to earn more income. Due to the lack of sleep, there were days when she was so tired that she fell asleep without realizing it.

In the days leading up to Tet, Nhu Quynh (24 years old, living in District 4) is also trying to work at full capacity, trying to earn money. Quynh said that when she is too tired, she always tells herself that today's effort will help Tet be more complete, reducing the pressure of spending.

“I want a full Tet for my family, not just small gifts but also cozy meals,” Quynh expressed.

However, Tet is very near but Quynh said that she probably only has enough money to buy gifts for her parents, and her plan to give her parents some money will have to be postponed even though she has to work hard to earn money every day. Luckily, she still has a lot of extra work at the end of the year, and her income is only enough to take care of herself.
