Thanh Lich's goals were scored in the beginning of the second half within just over 10 minutes, including goals scored in the 54th minute (from the penalty spot), 62nd and 65th minutes. These consecutive goals helped Van Hien University team end the efforts to equalize and hope for victory of the University of Economics (Hue University) team to get a place in the quarterfinals.

Before that, Van Hien University only needed a draw to get a ticket, creating a 1-0 advantage in the 32nd minute thanks to striker Le Minh Thuong's goal from the penalty spot. However, with this score, the University of Economics ( Hue University) still hoped to turn the tables. However, Thanh Lich's hat-trick in the beginning of the second half drowned out all chances of the representative from the Central Coast region. The remaining goals of Van Hien University were scored by Chiem Hai Phuong and Nguyen Hoang Nhan in the 75th and 80th minutes.
