The nearly 2,000 billion VND Royal Bridge is taking shape in Hai Phong

(Dan Tri) - With a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND, the Hoang Gia Bridge (also known as May Chai Bridge) across the Cam River in Hai Phong City is being accelerated, expected to be completed in August 2025.
Built in May Chai ward, Ngo Quyen district and Thuy Nguyen commune, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city, Hoang Gia bridge spans the Cam river - an important waterway that helps transport goods and passengers in and out of Hai Phong. The total length of the Royal Bridge is nearly 2.2km, the main bridge is 21m wide with 4 lanes, the approach bridges on both sides are 17.5m wide. The starting point of the bridge is on Vu Yen Island, the end point of the project intersects with Le Thanh Tong Street at Cau Tre Bridge, in May Chai Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong. At the construction site of the Royal Bridge, workers are working at high intensity to meet the schedule. To construct the Royal Bridge, the contractor has mobilized a large number of human resources and equipment. The project items are being urgently completed. Workers are constructing the railing of the road leading to the bridge on Vu Yen island. The main bridge piers on Vu Yen Island are being urgently completed to form an interconnecting archway. Each bridge tower has a special shape, inspired by the image of a bird's wings, representing the desire to fly high and reach success. In addition, the V-shaped wings symbolize Vietnam and Victory. The sturdy reinforced concrete pillars of the approach road to the bridge at the beginning of Vu Yen island. The road system leading to Hoang Gia Bridge in May Chai Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong, is also under urgent construction. After the opening of the Royal Bridge, it will only take people 10 minutes to travel from the center of Hai Phong city to Vu Yen island. The appearance of this billion-dollar bridge will contribute to creating a new look for Ngo Quyen district and a smart urban area associated with the new political and administrative center - Thuy Nguyen city in the future, as well as creating a highlight for infrastructure development, promoting the socio-economic development of the Port City in general.
