Representing 1.6 million teachers nationwide, on November 17, 337 teachers attended the ceremony to honor and award the titles of People's Teacher, Excellent Teacher and honor outstanding teachers and managers in 2024 organized by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in Hanoi.

Ms. Vu Thi Hanh - Vice Principal of Chu Van An High School (Van Yen District, Yen Bai Province) - the first People's Teacher of Yen Bai Province to be awarded this title shared about her journey to becoming a teacher. Since she was a child, Ms. Hanh has cherished the dream of becoming a teacher and overcoming difficulties, the female student from a remote mountainous district of Yen Bai Province has passed the entrance exam to Hanoi Pedagogical University. For 34 years standing on the podium, Ms. Hanh always keeps in mind that it is all for her beloved students. In each lesson, Ms. Hanh invests in research to find a suitable teaching method with the principle: in each lesson, knowledge must be condensed, focused, not spread out. It is necessary to maximize the positivity of students so that they can explore and find knowledge themselves, then they will remember it for a long time. Besides, learning must go hand in hand with practice, linking theory with real life, which will make students see the meaning of each subject.

“Not only imparting knowledge, I believe that education is not only about the mind but also about the heart, and must also “teach people” to beloved students. The sincere love and proper care of each teacher can guide students to overcome difficulties and challenges and become exemplary students, useful citizens for society” – Ms. Hanh said.

Teacher Do Thi Hoi - the only primary school teacher among 21 people awarded the title of People's Teacher by the President in 2024, impressed with her calmness and gentleness. She talked about her first days entering the teaching profession with difficulties upon difficulties, being assigned to teach at Lac Hoa 1 Primary School (Vinh Chau district, Soc Trang province). At that time, this was a particularly difficult commune with a large Khmer and Chinese ethnic group. After more than 30 years of being attached to the school and classes, witnessing the changes of the school, guiding many generations of students to adulthood, Ms. Hoi is the second mother of the students at the school, regardless of difficulties, hardships, tutoring, and caring for each student, especially the weaker students. The joy for Ms. Hoi is seeing her students progress every day. Many students after graduating still often return to visit Ms. Hoi - that is the immeasurable happiness that the teaching profession has brought to dedicated, devoted teachers who are devoted to the career of educating people.

Full of energy not only in professional work but also in group and community activities is teacher Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Loc Ninh High School (Binh Phuoc province). As a Physics teacher, Ms. Thanh has constantly learned, researched and effectively applied modern science and educational technology in lesson design, teaching, and student assessment, helping students maximize their potential and best complete the subject content. Having worked as a homeroom teacher for many years, Ms. Thanh has always been proactive in caring about the circumstances and feelings of each student to accompany them on the path of learning and growing up. She also actively participates in building classroom bookcases, launching reading culture movements in schools, helping poor students overcome difficulties in their studies, supporting the school's charity kitchen, participating in the "Grain of Charity" Club in the district... In particular, Ms. Thanh is a teacher who directly coaches the swimming team of Loc Ninh High School, helping them achieve high results in competitions as well as teaching free swimming to colleagues, friends, homeroom students, and children of teachers and staff in the school to improve physical fitness and prevent drowning.

Each excellent teacher honored at the ceremony, presenting the title is truly an inspiring story of dedication to the profession in their teaching journey. Regardless of the level of education, teachers today are facing many challenges that need to be overcome and successfully carry out the great tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the people. Sending a message to the teachers who are already excellent teachers, honored with the titles of People's Teacher, Excellent Teacher, and Outstanding Teacher, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son hopes that teachers will continue to self-study, self-renew, overcome their own limits to best promote their excellence.

“Teachers are excellent people who need to be the core for solving new and difficult problems. Excellence does not wait to be assigned or requested, but that excellence needs to be demonstrated through the spirit of dedication, responsibility, initiative, and positivity in what has been done, is being done, and needs to be done for the country's education,” Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized.
