The tragic drowning incident occurred in Dong Nai Thuong Commune (Cat Tien District) at around 3:30 p.m. on June 22. At that time, three people, including Ms. L.Th.H (29 years old), her son D.D.V (10 years old), and her nephew D.GB (16 years old), all living in Tan Xuan Village (Gia Vien Commune, Cat Tien District and currently residing in Dong Nai Thuong Commune), went to the Be De reservoir in Be De Village (Dong Nai Thuong Commune) to play. While playing next to the reservoir, V. unfortunately slipped and fell into the lake. Seeing this, Ms. H. and B. swam out to the lake to save V. However, because the lake water was too deep, all three people were drowned.
The incident was discovered by some children playing nearby, so they quickly ran into the village to inform the local people to come to the rescue. When the people arrived at the scene, all 3 victims were completely submerged in the water, so they dived together to search for them; at the same time, reported the incident to the local authorities and the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the rescue force of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Region 4 in Da Teh District quickly arrived at the scene to coordinate with the Cat Tien District Police and local authorities to deploy rescue plans for the victims. At more than 4:40 p.m. the same day, the rescue force recovered the bodies of 3 victims. It is known that Be De irrigation lake has water depth of 5-15 meters and is about 2 hectares wide, which is very dangerous. Here, the local authorities have put up many warning signs to warn people against drowning accidents.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc - Chairman of Cat Tien District People's Committee said that the families of the victims are all in difficult circumstances, having to work for hire to make a living. Currently, the local government, functional agencies, and organizations are focusing on supporting the funeral arrangements for the victims; at the same time, mobilizing financial resources to support and encourage the families of the victims to soon overcome the pain and stabilize their lives in the coming time.
