Three former students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University said that they loved the green color of the military uniform and the desire to become a female soldier prompted her to make this decision.
Nguyen Minh Chau graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the end of 2023 with a degree in Pharmacy. By temporarily putting her future on hold, Chau said that this was a bold move, accepting hardships and challenges because pharmacy was not only her dream but also the expectation that her mother placed on her shoulders.

According to the girl from Long An, she wants to contribute her youth to her homeland and country, just like Uncle Ho advised the youth: "Where there is a need, there are youth, where there is difficulty, there are youth."
Minh Chau believes that after the training process, she will become stronger and bolder, develop herself better, become a useful citizen, and contribute her youth to serve her homeland and country.
When hearing that her daughter wanted to join the army, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Phuong, Minh Chau's mother, was extremely surprised and worried. She was worried that her daughter, being a girl, would have difficulty living in the unit.
The mother feared that her "weak" daughter would not be able to endure the difficulties and challenges of training. However, after listening to her daughter's story, Ms. My Phuong was extremely proud and supported Chau in fulfilling her wish.
It is known that on February 27, Minh Chau will be the only female recruit from Long An province to join the army. Minh Chau shared: "Although I know that the military environment has high discipline and strictness, if others can do it, I can do it too."
Regarding the more distant future, Chau said he will strive to complete his mission well. After being discharged from the army, he can return to continue his dream of becoming a pharmacist or apply to serve in the medical sector of the army.
Sharing the same aspiration, Ta Phuong Anh (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City), a bachelor of pharmacy, also voluntarily applied to join the army in 2024. According to Phuong Anh, she loves the military environment, and this is also her wish to continue her family's tradition.

Although she hesitated to accept the unfinished dream of becoming a pharmacist, she always nurtured the desire to contribute to the Fatherland and the People.
"I know the military environment is very harsh, there will be difficulties and challenges, but I will strive to complete all tasks well, train and develop better," Phuong Anh shared.
Also graduating from nursing, Vu Thi Thuy Nhi (Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province) has nurtured the dream of becoming a soldier since childhood when the entire neighborhood where Nhi lives is mostly military families.
Therefore, having just graduated from nursing at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Nhi volunteered to join the army.
MSc. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, Permanent Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department, Secretary of the School Youth Union, said she was very happy and honored when students voluntarily wrote applications to join the army.
"This not only demonstrates the spirit and responsibility of the young generation towards protecting the country's sovereignty but also contributes to the glory of students of the only university named after Uncle Ho - Nguyen Tat Thanh University", shared Master Thao.
Sending a message to the new female recruits about to join the army, Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc My, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, hopes that the former pharmacy students will bring the specialized knowledge they have been trained to serve the training work in the army.
Besides, Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc My also hopes that the new female soldiers will maintain their spirit, youth, and enthusiasm to excellently complete all assigned tasks.
"No matter what position you are in, I hope you remember that you are studying at the school named after Uncle Ho, so please devote yourself to the cause of protecting the fatherland," Dr. Ngoc My shared.
This year, according to general records, many female university graduates have volunteered to join the army. Each application carries the sense of responsibility of young people with the desire to contribute a part of their efforts in building and protecting the country, promoting the fine traditions of Vietnamese youth.
