Be alert to 24 forms of fraud in Vietnam's cyberspace

The Department of Information Security has just released a report in which there are 24 forms of fraud taking place in Vietnam's cyberspace, everyone should grasp and be vigilant.

Specifically, there are 3 main scam groups operating, including brand counterfeiting, account hijacking and other combined forms. In total, there are 24 forms of scams taking place in Vietnam's cyberspace.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the online fraud situation in Vietnam increased by 64.78% compared to the same period last year. This figure also increased by 37.82% compared to the last 6 months of 2022.

The groups that are often vulnerable to fraud are the elderly, students, children, workers, laborers and office workers. One of the main reasons for this situation comes from people's awareness.

In addition to some technical solutions, the Information Security Department recognizes that propaganda, dissemination and raising awareness for each individual in cyberspace is a key factor contributing to creating a safe Vietnamese cyberspace.

Therefore, on June 23, the Ministry of Information and Communications officially launched the campaign "Action month to propagate and identify online fraud" chaired and coordinated by the Department of Information Security.
