Over the past few days, the Hen coffee shop at the corner of Tue Tinh and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai streets, Tam Ky city, Quang Nam has been more crowded than usual because of the "strange" way the shop owner has done to support people affected by natural disasters in the northern provinces.
In front of the shop, the owner hung two banners with the content: "Coffee Appointment notice from September 12 to September 15, in the spirit of supporting the Northern provinces affected by natural disasters and floods, no cash is collected, we hope customers will transfer money directly to the office of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front", along with the account number announced by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

To facilitate customers' money transfers, the shop owner also printed QRCodes of the Central Relief Mobilization Committee's bank accounts for customers to scan when paying for coffee and drinks.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Hen (34 years old, from Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam) - coffee shop owner - said that in recent days, when watching information on social networks and reading newspapers, he saw that people in the northern provinces suffered heavy losses in terms of lives and property due to floods, so he wanted to contribute a little of his efforts to support people in the storm and flood areas.
After discussing with his family, he decided to use all of the restaurant's revenue from September 12 to 15 to help the locals. To let more people know and support his idea, Mr. Hen decided to print two banners and hang them in front of the restaurant to "promote" it.

After one day of launching, Mr. Hen's coffee shop welcomed more customers, many people from far away heard the news and also came to the shop to support.
According to Mr. Hen, when calculating the bill, the restaurant staff asked customers to transfer money to the account numbers announced by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The restaurant did not collect money directly from customers and then transfer it.
Mr. Hen said that the restaurant's revenue on normal days is around 3 million VND/day, but in the past 2 days, when the program was launched, the number of customers was much higher, increasing by about 10%.

The shop owner said that many customers, after drinking coffee, after listening to the shop staff's explanation, transferred an amount many times higher than the bill. There are many elderly customers who cannot transfer money themselves, so the shop will transfer it on the spot and then receive the money back.
Mr. Nguyen Hen said that his house is in Tien Phuoc district (Quang Nam). He and his wife went to Tam Ky to rent a house and rent a space to open a shop to make a living.
"I opened a coffee shop to make a living, supporting the people in the North affected by storms and floods comes from my heart. I hope that people affected by storms and floods can overcome difficulties and quickly stabilize their lives," Mr. Hen expressed.
