OCOP booths at the 2024 National Press Festival paint a colorful picture of regional culture

This year, the 2024 National Press Festival is organized with many special features, notably the appearance of OCOP booths attracting many localities and regions to participate. Preparations for the booths have entered the "sprint" stage.

Prepare carefully

With the participation of central press agencies and press agencies in 63 provinces and cities nationwide, this year's Press Festival will innovate and create comprehensively in terms of vision and design, ensuring that the identity of regions and localities nationwide is fully represented. This year's Press Festival has expanded its scope of activities and participants; introducing and spreading the potential and strengths of each locality... Therefore, in addition to 105 booths displaying spring newspapers and typical press publications, there is also an exhibition area towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day of the Vietnam Press Museum and dozens of booths displaying OCOP products, handicraft products, traditional industries and typical and potential products of localities nationwide...

In order to create favorable conditions for press agencies and Journalists Associations at all levels nationwide to accompany the authorities in implementing, the Vietnam Journalists Association has planned and guided local Journalists Associations early to support local Associations at all levels to actively respond and register to participate in the exhibition booth. In Quang Ninh province, the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association has promptly grasped and seriously implemented the direction of the Vietnam Journalists Association. At the end of 2023 and from the beginning of 2024, the unit has carried out specific programs of activities. In particular, there is an assignment of tasks to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association. The Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association have met to deploy specific tasks to ensure the highest efficiency.

The OCOP booths that will be displayed at the National Press Festival are one of the new features of this year's Press Festival.

In the spirit of Quang Ninh being the first province in Vietnam to implement the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) Program with creative methods, the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association reported to the Provincial People's Committee and organized the registration of two booths. In which, it coordinated with the Office of the National Target Program on New Rural Development (NTM) of Quang Ninh province, mobilizing enterprises and cooperatives to participate in introducing typical OCOP products of the province.

Journalist Do Ngoc Ha - Permanent Vice President of the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association said: Although the time is short, businesses and cooperatives have actively registered, businesses are very excited about the task of promoting the province's typical products. At the same time, we want to use this National Press Festival to spread the image of OCOP products and find partners who can develop OCOP products of Quang Ninh province for businesses and organizations and individuals in other localities. Up to now, the province has had 19 units sending products to participate.

“In particular, for the coordinating units in the South, the Provincial Journalists Association has closely followed the direction of the Organizing Committee of the Press Festival, building a market design that is eye-catching, contributing to the overall success of the Press Festival, including the OCOP program. Participating in the event, businesses have selected typical quality products, selected products according to the Star criteria, carrying traditional brands, ensuring food hygiene and safety, and introduced them to the press and media agencies and tourists participating in the Press Festival” - journalist Do Ngoc Ha shared.

Along with completing the booths displaying unique OCOP products, the preparation of Spring newspaper publications was also carried out creatively and scientifically by the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association. Unlike previous years when participating with other units in the emulation cluster, this year the Provincial Journalists Association participated with its own booth, the theme closely following the National Press Festival.

The exhibition booth was invested in more carefully, the publications were presented more scientifically. In addition to the separate publications, there were also special publications that were collected and bound in beautifully decorated books for readers to follow. Overcoming difficulties and challenges such as: organizing for the first time in a southern locality, introducing OCOP products for the first time, the staff at the Office of the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association still actively carried out activities according to the set plan, focusing highly on performing many tasks at the same time, ensuring progress.

Similarly, in Tuyen Quang province, as the head of the Emulation Cluster of the Journalists Association of the Northwest Mountainous Provinces in 2023, he has promptly implemented activities to coordinate with members of the cluster to arrange resources, ensuring participation with spring newspapers, typical press publications, and booths introducing OCOP products within the framework of the 2024 National Press Festival in Ho Chi Minh City. Journalist Mai Duc Thong - Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Chairman of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Journalists Association shared: When there was a document from the Vietnam Journalists Association on organizing the 2024 National Press Festival, the Standing Committee of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee gave instructions to the Provincial People's Committee to assign departments, branches, and districts to implement, so the implementation was smooth from the beginning.

“Thanks to the early guidance plan from the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Provincial Journalists Association has a plan to assign specific tasks to each department, all preparations have been implemented early by the unit, many tasks have been basically completed. This year, there is a new point in that the construction of a product display booth has also been coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; the Investment Promotion Center of Tuyen Quang province has prepared... We choose the most typical products of the districts to introduce, this is also a good opportunity to promote the unique traditional products of the province" - journalist Mai Duc Thong added.

According to the current list, most of the Provincial Journalists Associations have participated in displaying spring newspapers, typical publications and have booths to introduce OCOP products. It can be affirmed that, along with the efforts in the preparation work of the Vietnam Journalists Association, up to this point, the progress of the work at the 2024 National Press Festival has been and is being ensured on schedule and meeting requirements. In that spirit, the Provincial and Municipal Journalists Associations across the country are completing their tasks to actively contribute to the success of the National Press Festival...
