Admire the colors of Gia Lai culture in Ho Chi Minh City

(Dan Tri) - More than 200 images and artifacts are displayed in the theme Gia Lai - Cultural Colors, at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum. Activities to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 1945 - November 23, 2024).
The Gia Lai - Cultural Colors theme is organized by Gia Lai Provincial Museum and Ho Chi Minh City Museum, giving visitors the opportunity to learn deeply about intangible cultural heritage such as the Central Highlands gong cultural space, Bahnar epic and Yang Potao Apui's rain-praying ceremony. Visitors can also experience the weaving and brocade weaving activities of the Jrai and Bahnar ethnic groups. Mr. Landy and his wife from Taiwan expressed their excitement when coming to Ho Chi Minh City during the exhibition, considering this a great opportunity to explore Vietnamese culture. Ms. Mlơnh, who has been weaving brocade since she was a child, said that this profession is imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic minorities in Gia Lai. She shared: "We constantly learn to create products such as bags and shoes to meet consumer tastes." Artisan Hyoi, who has been involved in weaving since he was 15 years old, said: "This exhibition not only promotes cultural values but also creates jobs and improves the lives of Gia Lai people." The exhibition attracted many tourists to visit and learn about the land and people of Gia Lai. Huynh Hoang Tri, 21 years old, shared: "The exhibition Gia Lai - Cultural Colors has practical significance in learning, preserving and promoting the unique cultural values of the ethnic communities in the Central Highlands". Wooden statues of the Jrai people are a unique cultural heritage in the Gia Lai folk culture treasure, always attracting the attention of tourists. Bahnar and Jrai brocade with red and black colors represents the strength of the people of Truong Son Tay Nguyen, with unique patterns, full of aesthetics and national personality.
Mong silver bracelets are exquisitely crafted and are the most valuable assets, used as jewelry for many different occasions.
Items such as baskets, traditional costumes, jewelry, hairpins, beaded bracelets, silver necklaces, earrings, and copper bracelets are also introduced. The Gia Lai - Cultural Colors exhibition takes place from October 23 to November 10 at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, serving as a bridge for Ho Chi Minh City residents to connect with other regions, preserve and spread the country's culture.
