In the photo series inspired by the paintings of artists Le Pho and Mai Trung Thu, there are also two children Trieu Man (8 years old) and Trieu Minh (4 years old). Although they are very young, the two children still act "miraculously" to create an extremely beautiful family photo series.
The photographer of this photo series is Minh Son (also known as Zim Luc, 32 years old, living in Hanoi). Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , he said that one time when he went to a friend's house, he happened to see the paintings of Mr. Le Pho and Mai Trung Thu. At that time, he was really surprised and attracted by a painting with a very small size but with great value, imbued with Vietnamese character.
Back home, he learned more about the works and lives of the two famous artists and decided to recreate the million-dollar paintings in a new version.

To complete the photo series, the crew went through many stages such as choosing suitable works to convert into photos while still maintaining the spirit of composition, proportion, color; unifying the makeup layout, hair styling... Finally, processing graphics so that the photos look like paintings. The lighting also had to be carefully calculated to be as similar as possible to each original.

According to the photographer, the models' appearance and performance is a particularly difficult story. "It's not possible to just imitate exactly because the body proportions in the paintings and photos are different. The crew had to arrange each flap of the ao dai and each fold of the pants to create the soft strokes and gentle, graceful curves typical of the paintings of the ancestors," Minh Son shared.
Hai Yen (the female model in the photo series) said that her family loves and collects paintings by the "Four Heroes of Indochina". She was very happy to see herself looking young in the photo, not as mature as she had imagined.
The eyes of the women in the paintings by Le Pho and Mai Trung Thu are a bit dreamy, distant, sad and pensive, but strangely elegant. Ms. Hai Yen had to act many times to achieve the beautiful expression in the paintings.

A pair of rare birds worth up to 700 million VND - Photo: NVCC
Talking about the two birds in the photo, she said that these are two very rare and precious red-eyed yellow-ringed birds belonging to her husband. The value of the pair of birds is up to 700 million VND. When hearing about this pair of birds, no one in the crew dared to carry the cage, had to turn down the music, find soft songs so that the two "bird models" could calm down and not panic because of the unfamiliar space.
"When taking photos, the children were also very happy to learn more about painting and history. They were so attached to the photo session that they didn't want to leave until the end. This will be a memorable memory for the family," she said.

Photographer Minh Son confided that he and his friends want to contribute a small part to preserving, maintaining and fueling traditional Vietnamese values to inspire Gen Z.
"There were many difficulties in the process of implementation, but the biggest obstacle was still fear. The art-loving community is very strict, especially when it comes to ancient paintings, not to mention that these are very famous works. I was quite worried that recreating the paintings in another form would cause many conflicting opinions.
Thinking back, we still want to do it to revive the great artistic values that our ancestors left behind in the eyes of the modern young generation. Art and culture live forever with time," he shared.
