It was noted that many types of fish, big and small, died and floated on the water surface. Seeing this, people rushed to collect the fish to sell or take home to eat.

"The commune is coordinating with the authorities to investigate the cause. At the same time, people are advised not to eat fish, but many people still prepare and sell it to restaurants. It is estimated that several hundred kilograms of dead fish have died," informed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Cang commune.
According to the locals, this is an unusual phenomenon. People who participated in catching the fish said the water was yellow and cloudy compared to normal, they felt a bitter taste in their throats when diving to catch fish, and some people had itchy skin symptoms when wading in the river to catch fish.
