The organization of free meals for candidates in difficult circumstances and candidates living far away has been implemented by the Youth Union members of Bac Kan province for many years. Young people in mountainous districts such as Bach Thong and Pac Nam also organize their own cooking, dividing the meals into portions and bringing them to the exam sites, ensuring that candidates have hot, nutritious meals during the exam days.
There are currently 14 volunteer teams with about 250 members, supporting 14 examination sites throughout the province. Ms. Hoang Hai Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Bac Kan Provincial Youth Union, said: In addition to arranging about 150 free meals, the union members will also organize "motorbike taxi" teams to support the pick-up and drop-off of candidates, and find accommodation for candidates from far away...
“This year we will focus on activities such as organizing cleaning and sweeping of exam sites, giving meals to disadvantaged candidates, giving drinking water, milk, and snacks to candidates; coordinating with the police force to regulate traffic, guide candidates at exam locations... Through these activities, we hope that students will have the best mindset to enter this year's exam,” said Ms. Hai Ha.
This year, Bac Kan province has more than 3,200 candidates registered for the High School Graduation Exam. Local leaders requested district and commune authorities, along with forces such as the Police, Army, militia and youth union members, to prepare plans to support candidates in the event of thunderstorms that may cause flash floods and landslides. Traffic management units are required to review locations at risk of landslides and flash floods causing traffic jams and have plans to arrange vehicles and personnel to ensure smooth traffic.
“We have arranged 14 testing locations in high schools in the districts, which means that students will take the exam the same way they go to school every day, which is very convenient for candidates. Regarding the preparation for the exam, we have fully prepared according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training from the room for storing exam papers, exam rooms, waiting rooms, duty rooms, police rooms, medical rooms... we will continue to review the infrastructure system in the coming days to ensure the best", said Mr. Doan Van Huong, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Kan.
