At the online conference to summarize the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024 organized by the General Department of Taxation on the afternoon of December 21, Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan said that in 2023, the tax sector will carry out tax tasks and work in a complex and unpredictable global economic and political situation, which will have a profound impact on most countries and regions globally.
Domestically, many sectors are facing difficulties, supply chains are broken, FDI attraction is declining, many businesses are in a passive position, thousands of businesses have to leave the market.
While 2023 is identified by the Party, National Assembly and Government as a pivotal year for implementing socio-economic tasks for the 2021-2025 period, it requires all levels and sectors to focus highly on implementing the assigned tasks.

Promoting the achievements in 2023, the Deputy Minister of Finance requested the entire tax sector to continue to strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, and join hands to successfully implement tax tasks in 2024. In particular, it is necessary to focus on implementing the following major and key groups of tasks:
Firstly, focus resources, resolutely and synchronously implement solutions to manage revenue, prevent budget losses, collect tax debts, and strive to complete the task of collecting the state budget in 2024 assigned by the National Assembly of 1.48 trillion VND. Of which, crude oil revenue is 46,000 billion VND and domestic revenue is 1.44 trillion VND.
Second, effectively implement the program of building tax policies and laws, perfecting the tax management process according to international practices to ensure fairness, focusing on tax collection efficiency. Timely deploy and apply legal documents and policies into life. At the same time, promptly build and upgrade management applications to serve tax management, ensuring the smooth and effective implementation of new regulations.
Third, continue to closely monitor the actual situation to research and propose solutions to support taxpayers in line with the developments of the world and domestic economy in the coming time; at the same time, focus on timely and effective implementation of these solutions to support people and businesses to quickly recover production and business, create momentum for economic development, and nurture revenue sources.
Fourth, continue to resolutely and effectively deploy and closely monitor the implementation of the Tax System Reform Strategy to 2030 with 13 component projects according to tax management areas.
Fifth, continue to implement the Government's Resolutions, Plans and Programs with the goal of improving the business environment, contributing to enhancing national competitiveness; synchronously and comprehensively implement administrative reform solutions in the tax sector. Strengthen the application of information technology, strongly transform digitally with the goal of moving towards digital finance.
Sixth, continue to improve and organize the apparatus of tax agencies at all levels to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and smoothness, meeting the requirements of reforming and modernizing the tax sector under the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Finance, while promoting training, fostering and improving the quality of human resources in the tax sector, contributing to the excellent completion of assigned political tasks.
Seventh, strengthen discipline, improve the sense of responsibility of civil servants in performing public duties and effectively carry out anti-corruption, thrift and anti-waste work .
