According to the decision to appoint the Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City National University, on June 12 and 19, the Prime Minister signed two decisions to appoint Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai - Vice President of the University of Natural Sciences, Principal of the Gifted High School - Ho Chi Minh City National University and Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Cao Vinh, Chairman of the University Council of the University of Natural Sciences, holding the position of Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
At Ho Chi Minh City National University, Professor Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai was assigned to be in charge of training; Associate Professor Tran Cao Vinh was assigned to be in charge of finance with the expectation of increasing revenue for Ho Chi Minh City National University without being too dependent on student tuition fees.
Awarding the decision to appoint Vice President of VNU-HCM to Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of VNU-HCM, said that when taking up the position at VNU-HCM, the income of the above-mentioned personnel will decrease because they will no longer enjoy the additional income as when they were at the school, but the work will be more. He hopes that VNU-HCM will be a unified entity to achieve the set goals.
With the above appointment decisions, the Board of Directors of VNU-HCM has 4 members, including Director Vu Hai Quan and 3 Vice Directors. All 4 members of the Board of Directors come from the University of Natural Sciences.
At the ceremony, VNU-HCM awarded the title of "Honorary Rector" to Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Van Phuoc, Head of the Faculty of Medicine - who has been associated with the development of this faculty since its establishment in 2009.
After 15 years of establishing the Faculty of Medicine, on June 3, the Prime Minister issued a decision to establish the University of Health Sciences on the basis of upgrading this faculty. This is the 8th member university of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
According to Mr. Vu Hai Quan, the University of Health Sciences will soon build a practice hospital.
