The five veterans who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign who received gifts are: Chu Ngoc Lan (born in 1930, in Thai Hoa commune), Vu Dinh Ngac (born in 1922, in Tan Viet commune, Binh Giang district); An Van Tha (born in 1935, in Le Thanh Nghi ward), Nguyen Xuan Sinh (born in 1928, in Le Thanh Nghi ward) and Nguyen Thanh Dong (born in 1935, in Ngoc Chau ward, all in Hai Duong city).
Colonel Vu Hong Anh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, on behalf of the delegation, visited and expressed deep gratitude to the veterans who participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, contributing to the victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world". Comrade Vu Hong Anh hoped that the veterans would continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, be exemplary, and always be a shining example for future generations to learn from and follow.
Up to now, the Provincial Military Command has transferred more than 400 gifts to the Military Commands of districts, towns and cities to give to war invalids, sick soldiers and soldiers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign and are currently residing in the province. Of these, there are 36 gifts from the Ministry of National Defense worth 1,500,000 VND each; 15 gifts from Military Region 3 worth 1,500,000 VND each, and the remaining gifts from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Hai Duong province worth 1,000,000 VND each.
