TPO - The People's Council of Binh Thuan province approved the adjustment of the investment policy for the drainage project downstream of DT.706B road, exit 2-3, Phan Thiet city. In which, the investment capital increased by nearly 8 billion VND, the implementation period is until the end of 2025.

On June 20, the 11th term People's Council of Binh Thuan province held its 23rd session (special session). Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Thuan province and Mr. Tieu Hong Phuc - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Thuan province chaired the meeting.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Thuan province Nguyen Hoai Anh said that the 23rd session will consider and decide on 19 contents in groups of issues on investment policies; allocation and adjustment of capital for implementing national target programs, public investment capital; concretization of legal regulations for implementation in localities, including resolutions on implementing the Law on Forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level, effective from July 1.

At the meeting, delegates gave their opinions on approving the adjustment of the investment policy and extending the time for capital allocation to implement the drainage project downstream of DT.706B road, exit 2-3, Phan Thiet city.

Accordingly, this project was approved by the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province and approved the adjustment of the investment policy in 2015-2016 with a total investment of nearly 40 billion VND. The project has organized bidding and implemented construction of 2 construction packages No. 5-6. Currently, package No. 5 has been finalized, package No. 6 has been temporarily suspended from April 2018 due to land clearance problems of Mr. Mai Tien, Mr. Nguyen Duc Long and Bai Bien Mat Troi Company Limited at the end of the drainage pipe to the sea.

After that, Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee adjusted the drainage route to follow the existing trail and the boundary of Mr. Mai Tien's land down to Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, then cut across, running along Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street into the land of the Sun Beach tourist area bordering Rach Dua Tourist Area and draining into the sea.

The audit report of the Economic and Budget Committee, Binh Thuan Provincial People's Council stated that the Provincial People's Committee's proposal to adjust the investment policy was necessary. Therefore, the delegates approved the adjustment of the investment policy for the drainage project downstream of DT.706B road, exit 2-3, Phan Thiet City.

The project's objective is to prevent erosion and sand overflow, affecting the downstream areas of culverts No. 6-10 and DT.706B road. The project will construct a drainage line with a length of 2,557m and auxiliary items including collection pits, manholes, sand overflow prevention works, outlets, and other related items.

The total investment is nearly 47.5 billion VND, an increase of 7.71 billion VND compared to the total investment approved in 2015 due to adjusting the route direction, changing the aperture of the end-of-route drainage culvert, updating compensation costs, site clearance according to current regulations, updating the current price of construction materials, unit price of labor, machine shifts and construction equipment...

On the afternoon of May 28, Mr. Phan Duong Cuong - Director of the Department of Construction of Binh Thuan province said that he had sent a document requesting the Provincial People's Committee to request the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board to proactively monitor the progress of approving adjustments and supplements to the investment policy for the drainage project downstream of DT.706B road, exit 2-3, and urgently carry out procedures to soon start construction of the project. Relevant departments, branches and localities will speed up the appraisal and commenting on the investment project, and design and construction to be implemented after the basic design after receiving the appraisal documents and consulting the investor.
