At a supermarket in Hoang Mai district (Hanoi), the meat counter was almost empty. Ms. Nguyen Hong (29 years old) said that the staff had reported that the goods were sold out since 10am, and the vegetable shelves were also gradually thinning.

“We went to the market to buy things, but the prices of meat and vegetables increased compared to normal days. Prices at the supermarket were stable, but there was no more to buy,” said Ms. Hong.
