The exhibition is a key activity of the city to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), highlighting the achievements of Hanoi over 70 years of fighting, working, producing and developing. Special marks in the leadership, direction and administration of the City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee in each historical period.
Thereby, the exhibition propagates, raises awareness, consciousness, and responsibility of cadres, party members, and people of the capital on the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source"; introduces and promotes the image of the capital to localities in the country and international friends. At the same time, it demonstrates the determination to strive to build a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" capital.
With an exhibition area of about 2,500m2 including more than 500 images, 500 artifacts, 30 models applying modern technology, the Exhibition presents a comprehensive picture of the Capital over the past 70 years, heroic in combat, enthusiastic in labor, creative, rising strongly with the nation and the times, increasingly cultured, civilized, modern, of regional and international stature.
Through the use of panels, drawings, documents, films, photos, artifacts, models combined with 3D mapping projections, digital technology applications, AI, the exhibition takes visitors through the historical flow back to the stages of Hanoi's development in 5 spaces.
Part 1: Hanoi before 1954: Recreating the heroic history of Hanoi Capital from the Thang Long period to the brilliant historical milestone - Liberation of the Capital, opening a new period of development for Hanoi.
Part 2: Hanoi in the construction of socialism and the resistance war against the US to save the country (1954 - 1975): Re-enacting the achievements in the period of building and defending the socialist North. At the same time, it was the largest and most important rear base, mobilizing human and material resources to the maximum extent, the gathering place and starting point of all resources to support the southern battlefield, where many heroic feats of the great resistance war against the US and national reunification were directly established.
Part 3: Hanoi and the whole country build socialism and carry out the renovation process (1975 - 2008): Re-enacting the achievements of the period of restoration, reconstruction and socio-economic development after the war to liberate the South and unify the country; the period of determination to innovate the management mechanism, develop a multi-sector commodity economy, operating according to the market mechanism under the management of the State.
Part 4: Hanoi Capital expanded from 2008 to present: Recreating outstanding achievements in socio-economic development of Hanoi after expanding its administrative boundaries with a new appearance and stature. Hanoi's area was expanded to 3,359.84 km2, 3.6 times larger than the old area, making it one of the 17 capitals with the largest area in the world.
Part 5: Orientation for the development of the Capital to 2030, vision to 2050. Building the Capital Hanoi to be worthy of being the representative image of a powerful and prosperous Vietnam, with a high standard of living and quality of life; comprehensive, unique and harmonious economic, cultural and social development, typical of the whole country; having the leading development level in the region, on par with capitals of countries around the world; being a global city, Green - Smart - Peaceful - Prosperous; a place worth visiting and staying, a place worth living and contributing.
