In the first two episodes of Father's Gift, it can be seen that on the surface, Mr. Nhan's family (Meritorious Artist Vo Hoai Nam) is very admirable with a successful eldest son, a daughter about to graduate from the conservatory, and a youngest son who is also ambitious.

However, in the preview of Father's Gift episode 3 of the film, Nghia's (Tuan Tu) life is increasingly suffocating. His mother-in-law (NSND Minh Hoa) takes him to meet a business partner, but she openly despises her son-in-law. After criticizing the shirt Nghia wears as "inexpensive", she also sarcastically says:

"Actually, 'the clothes don't make the man', that was in the old days. Now, if they want to do business, they have to polish it with nickel, it's terrible. A suit looks simple like that but it shows the class of a man."

Knowing that his mother-in-law looked down on him for not earning much money, Nghia decided to "play big" and invest. However, due to lack of capital, he considered inviting the bank to appraise the house he had just bought.

Meanwhile, due to lack of money, Thao (Ngoc Huyen) goes to the tutoring center to ask for an advance salary. Here, she finds out that Ms. Nguyet (the person who introduced Thao to work at the center) has received her salary a few days ago.

Also in episode 3 of Father's Gift in the Countryside, Mr. Nhan did not know that his two older children were having financial difficulties. After buying a truck, Hieu (Duy Khanh) was confident that he could earn 1 million VND per day, after deducting expenses, he would make a profit of 200 million VND per year: "So in just half a year, I can pay back the money I borrowed from you."

However, Mr. Nhan thinks this is "thinking things out of the blue": "Now I ask you, have you thought about short and long trips? And on holidays, New Year's, storms and floods, you just sit there and think things out of the blue."

On the surface, Mr. Nhan's children appear to be grown-up and successful, but in reality, they face their own problems that not everyone knows about. As the breadwinner of the family, how will Mr. Nhan cope when he learns that his eldest son is about to mortgage his house, his daughter is at risk of being scammed, and his youngest son is likely to lose money in business?
