According to Thanh Thuy District Medical Center, doctors recently successfully resuscitated a 50-year-old male patient (in Phu Tho) who suffered cardiac arrest while undergoing an ultrasound at the Center.

According to the family, on the morning of the same day of admission to the hospital, the patient experienced chest pain, which increased with the feeling of heaviness in the chest. Seeing this, the family took the patient to Thanh Thuy District Medical Center for examination.

Upon arrival at the Center, the patient was examined by doctors from the Emergency, Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department in the following condition: Conscious, feeling of pressure in the chest; chest pain of unknown cause; monitoring for myocardial infarction. The patient was immediately assigned the necessary emergency paraclinical tests for examination.

During the examination, when the doctor was performing an ultrasound in the emergency ultrasound room, he suddenly discovered that the patient had sudden cardiac arrest.

Immediately, the doctors called for support, performed chest compressions and quickly transferred the patient to the Emergency, Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department.

At the department, the patient continued to receive emergency treatment to stop circulation, control the airway, defibrillate, use drugs to stop ventricular fibrillation, and vasopress the patient.

After 20 minutes of emergency treatment, the patient's heart started beating again. Doctors continued to maintain circulation, ensure breathing and transferred the patient to Phu Tho General Hospital for further treatment.

According to information received from Phu Tho General Hospital, the patient was diagnosed with: After emergency cardiac arrest/ Acute myocardial infarction. Here, the patient was cooled, had blood filtered, and had vascular intervention.

Currently, the patient's health is progressing well: The patient is awake, the endotracheal tube has been removed and he continues to receive medical treatment at the Cardiology Department - Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital.
