Ben Tre handles environmental pollution information:

From the Decision of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on implementing the Regulations on receiving and processing information on the environmental pollution hotline, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ben Tre has consulted and issued 4 documents for implementation; at the same time, established and publicized the hotline phone number; assigned the Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Chief Inspector of the Department and Inspectors to be in charge of operating the hotline. In addition, 9/9 Departments of Natural Resources and Environment of districts and cities have also established and published phone numbers and email addresses to receive and process information on environmental pollution.

Ben Tre province aims to successfully build a "Green Ben Tre - Livable Ben Tre".

To date, the provincial hotline has received and handled 19/19 cases; the district and city hotlines have received and handled more than 40 cases. The information reflecting environmental pollution is mainly about odors and wastewater from livestock farming and production and business activities. All information is received, promptly updated and transferred to competent authorities for inspection and handling in accordance with the law; the handling results are informed to the reporting organizations and individuals.

Mr. Trinh Minh Khoi - Deputy Director of Ben Tre Department of Natural Resources and Environment said: After receiving information reflecting on environmental pollution, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Inspectorate updates the information into the system software and immediately transfers it to districts and cities to verify the information. In particular, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment pays special attention to the way of organizing surveys, determining the subjects, scope and level of pollution; at the same time, organizing inspection teams to handle cases in accordance with regulations.

According to Mr. Trinh Minh Khoi, Ben Tre province has made many innovations in managing and controlling environmental pollution, gradually improving and enhancing the quality of people's living environment, serving socio-economic development. Ben Tre province has also set out 10 key tasks on environmental protection. In which, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment plays an important role in managing, controlling pollution and protecting the environment. Currently, Ben Tre province continues to implement the Green Ben Tre Project, aiming to raise awareness and responsibility of organizations and individuals on environmental protection through daily life.

In the coming time, Ben Tre province will continue to direct the control of household and individual behaviors of littering, discharging wastewater and using banned substances that are harmful to the environment; continue to deploy and replicate good models of environmental protection. From there, local people will realize the practical benefits of preserving the environment as well as forming environmentally friendly behaviors, gradually promoting the role of people in environmental protection, towards successfully building a "Green Ben Tre - Livable Ben Tre".
Along with that, Ben Tre province requires to continue to maintain and operate well the hotline information system on environmental pollution in the province, ensuring regular, smooth and continuous operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays to promptly receive and process information as well as organize verification, inspection, handling and publicize the handling results to organizations and individuals who have reflected and provided information.

In addition, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ben Tre will also strengthen inspection and guidance for localities in the operation process, especially the software for receiving information reflecting on environmental pollution. At the same time, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment also recommends to superior agencies on the staffing and has specific instructions on expenses for operating the hotline information system to ensure more effective operation in the future.
