On September 17, Vung Tau Hospital (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) announced that it had just received a case of a newborn baby abandoned with the umbilical cord still attached.
Accordingly, at around 5am the same day, Mr. Phan Doanh Th. (residing in Vung Tau City) while exercising discovered a newborn baby boy with the umbilical cord still attached abandoned in front of the monastery gate on Tran Phu Street, Ward 5, Vung Tau City. The baby was not wearing any clothes and was wrapped in a piece of cloth.
At this time, Mr. Th. carried the baby to Vietsovpetro Medical Center; then the baby was transferred to Vung Tau Hospital.
Upon examination, the baby weighed 2.9kg, was in good health and was being cared for in the hospital's Obstetrics Department. Doctors at the hospital determined that the baby may have been born this morning.
Vung Tau Hospital announced that anyone who is a relative of the baby should contact the hospital's Social Work Department for instructions on taking the baby home to care for and raise.
Within 5 days from the date of notification (ie until September 21), if there is no information about the baby's relatives, Vung Tau Hospital will carry out related procedures for the baby according to the provisions of law.
