In recent days, social networks have been sharing a clip recording the moment a boy swam through floodwaters, reached a rescue boat, and only asked for one thing, surprising everyone.
In the clip, when he saw the rescue team approaching, the boy braved the 3-4 meter high flood water, swam to the rescue boat to ask for a bottle of essential oil for his grandmother. After receiving the goods from the rescue team, the boy swam back home.

Witnessing that touching moment, a man in the relief team posted a clip, along with the status: "The most touching image today when the team went to volunteer. The boy was only about 4-5 years old. He swam to the relief boat by himself, and only asked for a bottle of essential oil for his grandmother."
The clip immediately attracted many views and comments when posted on social media platforms. Many people watching the clip were choked up and heartbroken by the adorable and cute image of the boy.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Duy Hong (from Bac Giang), the owner of the clip, said that he and his team met the boy on the afternoon of September 13, while providing medicine to people in Tho Ha village, Van Ha commune, Viet Yen district.

"Where we met the boy, the water was 3-4m deep. At that time, the boy was holding onto the window. I told him to wait while I rowed the boat in, but he said he knew how to swim, so he would swim out by himself.
When we got to the boat, the boy said he only wanted a bottle of essential oil for his grandmother. We wanted to give him the medicine bag, but he said it would be difficult to swim while holding the whole bag. Then the boy swam to shore. Although we know that children living in the river area are very good swimmers, that image made us emotional," Mr. Hong shared.
After Mr. Hong posted the clip, many people sent their thanks and encouragement to the group. However, many people wondered and blamed why no one in the group gave the child a life jacket.
The man explained why the rescue team did not give the boy a life jacket (Clip: NVCC).
Explaining this, Mr. Hong said that there were many relief groups coming to Tho Ha village to help people in difficulty. His group only brought medicine to distribute to the people.
"Many people wondered why no one in the group gave the child a life jacket, why they didn't give him anything else but medicine. Honestly, we don't know how to swim, so people outside gave us life jackets to wear to ensure safety.
That afternoon, many volunteer groups went to Tho Ha village. My group only distributed medicine, while other groups distributed life jackets and food," Hong explained.
