Bayern Munich firmly leads Group A of Champions League
Haary Kane and Musiala shined together to help the Bavarian Tigers maintain their winning streak in the 2023/24 Champions League.
This result also helps coach Thomas Tuchel and his team firmly consolidate their position at the top of Group A with 9 absolute points after 3 wins.
Bayern Munich will officially qualify for the next round if they beat Galatasaray in the rematch between the two teams on November 9 at Allianz.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray temporarily holds second place in Group A with 4 points but will certainly face many difficulties in the race for tickets to the knockout round.
In this match, Bayern Munich, as usual, took the initiative, created pressure and quickly scored the opening goal against the Turkish representative.
In the 8th minute, Leroy Sane had a favorable pass that created conditions for Kingsley Coman to finish diagonally, putting Bayern ahead 1-0.
Coman's goal made the match more exciting as Galatasaray pushed up their formation to play attacking football. However, it took until the 30th minute to get an equalizer.
Galatasaray were awarded a penalty after Mauro Icardi was fouled by Joshua Kimmich in the penalty area. At the 11m mark, the Argentine striker confidently stepped up to successfully take the penalty to level the score at 1-1.
In the following minutes, the two teams played "tit for tat" with many dangerous situations created towards each other's goal.
However, it was not until the final minutes that the match saw another goal when Bayern twice in a row made the home team's net shake.
In the 73rd minute, Musiala created a chance for Harry Kane to score the goal to make it 2-1. Six minutes later, the English striker returned the favor by passing to Musiala to seal a 3-1 victory for Bayern Munich.
This victory helped Bayern Munich extend their unbeaten streak in the Champions League group stage to 37 matches (34 wins, 3 draws) - a record in the history of the tournament.
Man Utd won dramatic victory
In the remaining match of Group A, Man Utd had to go through tense moments before enjoying the joy of a 1-0 victory over Copenhagen at home at Old Trafford.
Center-back Harry Maguire and goalkeeper Andre Onana took turns playing the role of hero to help the Red Devils keep 3 points at home.
Harry Maguire was the player who scored the only goal of the match in the 72nd minute with a close-range header after an accurate pass from midfielder Christian Eriksen.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Andre Onana played brilliantly with a successful save from Jordan Larsson's penalty kick in the 90+7 minute, after McTominay fouled him in the penalty area.
This result helped coach Erik ten Hag's team get their first win in the Champions League this season after two consecutive defeats against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.
With 3 points, Man Utd also rose to third place in Group A, 1 point behind the two teams above, Galatasaray and Bayern Munich, 6 points behind.
In the next match of Group A Champions League on November 9, Man Utd will meet Copenhagen again in a trip to Denmark.
If they continue to win, the Old Trafford team will likely rise to second place and have an advantage in the race for tickets to the knockout round of the Champions League this season.
Because in the match at the same time, Galatasaray will have to enter a match that is expected to be extremely difficult when they have to play away at the home field of German champion Bayern Munich.
However, if they lose in the rematch against Copenhagen, coach Erik ten Hag and his team will face many difficulties as they will have to play away at Galatasaray and welcome Bayern Munich at Old Trafford in the next two matches.
