Previously, on March 21, a woman born in 1993 (residing in Thu Duc City) went to the Thao Dien Ward Police Station (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) to report the theft of many properties at the Thao Dien Masteri apartment building. The woman said that the lost properties included USD, watches, wine... worth more than 2 billion VND.
Upon receiving the news, Thao Dien Ward Police and Thu Duc City Police were present to examine the scene, take witness statements, and investigate.
The woman said she lived in the apartment with her boyfriend, Tan. After the property was stolen, Tan's whereabouts were unknown. Through professional expertise, the police identified Tan as the suspect in the theft and launched an investigation.
At noon on March 21, police detectives arrested Tan while he was in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. At the time of the arrest, the police seized many items that the woman reported as stolen.
According to a source from SGGP reporter, the woman who reported the theft is the daughter of the former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of a province in the Central region, who retired a few months ago.
