Surprise with "huge" prize at Hanoi Singing Contest 2024

According to the Organizing Committee of the Hanoi Singing Contest 2024, 1 contestant won a special prize worth 500 million VND and 3 first prizes, each worth 100 million VND.

On the afternoon of October 30, Hanoi Radio and Television announced the Hanoi Singing Contest 2024. Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Kim Khiem - General Director of the Station said that Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 is a prestigious singing contest, a place to discover and search for young musical talents from all over the country. Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 will be a prestigious and quality artistic playground, a special event that will leave an impression on the cultural and artistic life of the capital.

"This year's competition has some innovations, including a special prize of great value, 500 million VND including cash and gifts. 3 first prizes, each worth 100 million VND, 3 second prizes, each worth 50 million VND.

Regarding the program format, it will remain the same as last season, however, this year the Organizing Committee will promote media products during and after the end of the competition. The winning contestants and potential contestants will also receive media support. In addition, the Organizing Committee will closely follow up to help contestants choose music genres and songs to compete. Because in reality, many contestants are still struggling to know their strengths, do not know which song to choose, which music genre to compete in," said Mr. Nguyen Kim Khiem.

People's Artist Nguyen Quang Vinh - Head of the jury of the contest said that this is an art contest for contestants to shine, to have the opportunity to sublimate with art. Because art will be an opportunity for anyone, any contestant to express themselves, in any situation.

Also at the press conference, singer Khanh Linh said: "I participated in the Hanoi Television Singing Contest", the predecessor of the current Hanoi Singing Contest. I know this is a serious contest, young people can completely trust and confidently show their talent and singing voice in the contest.

I have advice for young people, you are the new generation, with the mindset and aesthetics of generation Z. So you should show your best and most importantly, contestants should aim to be an artist, not just someone who can sing."

According to the Organizing Committee, Hanoi Singing 2024 brings together a team of judges and professional advisors including famous artists, musicians, singers and leading vocal experts such as: People's Artist Quang Vinh - Chairman of Hanoi Music Association, People's Artist Quoc Hung - Deputy Director of Vietnam National Academy of Music, People's Artist Mai Hoa, singer Ho Quynh Huong, musician Giang Son...

The entries are selected according to 3 musical performance styles: Classical Chamber Music; Folk Music and Light Music, focusing on songs about Hanoi, especially songs associated with the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.

Candidates register for the contest from October 1 to November 19, 2024. The final round of Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 will take place on December 26, 2024 at Ho Guom Theater (Hanoi).
