Today (June 21), the consortium of contractors led by Deo Ca Group opened the right gate of the western tunnel No. 2 of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway project, phase 1. This is the first tunnel gate to be opened on this expressway.

Providing more information about the project implementation status, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan, Deputy General Director of Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Joint Stock Company (project enterprise - DNDA) said that currently, within the scope of the handed over site, the contractor is organizing 19 construction teams with 467 personnel and nearly 200 locomotives and equipment.
"Regarding site clearance work, up to now, the section through Cao Bang province has been handed over for more than 35km, equivalent to 85%, meeting the construction schedule. It is expected that by July 2024, the entire site will be handed over.
For the section through Lang Son province, the handed over area is 5.45km, equivalent to 10.5%.
The investor and contractor have advanced money for people to hand over part of the construction site while waiting for the completion of procedures. According to the plan, Lang Son will complete the site clearance work in September 2024," Mr. Tuan informed.
Regarding the supply of construction materials, according to Mr. Tuan, calculations show that the demand for earth filling for the entire project is about 4 million m3 short.
In addition to adding 4 new mines, DNDA has carried out construction of leveling the ground in the areas around the project. "We are coordinating with relevant parties to carry out procedures with the province to complete the licensing of mining mines according to the special mechanism.
To ensure the implementation progress, Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee also needs to continue working with Lang Son Provincial People's Committee and the Government to supplement enough land use targets for the project in the fourth quarter of 2024, and approve the addition of 4 soil material mines according to the DNDA proposal.
Along with that, the plan to renovate and utilize surplus land in accordance with regulations to meet the source of construction earth materials is approved," the leader of DNDA proposed.
Sharing more about the current problems, the DNDA leader said that although the opening of tunnel No. 2 has been implemented, the site for the waste dump and the functional area of the concrete mortar mixing station have not been handed over.
To overcome difficulties, DNDA proposed that Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee speed up site clearance and agree to supplement waste dumps arising during construction.

Previously, on June 11, 2024, the Steering Committee of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Project held a meeting to evaluate the project implementation results and continue to promote the implementation of key tasks.
At the meeting, Cao Bang Provincial Party Secretary Tran Hong Minh requested the People's Committees of districts where the project passes through to urgently approve plans and estimates for compensation for land acquisition and clearance for local people, and strive to hand over 100% of the site to the project enterprises for construction on schedule.
"It is necessary to quickly implement procedures for exploiting minerals for common construction materials for the project after the Government issues Resolution No. 106/2003/QH15; Actively work with Lang Son province to adjust the route, site clearance, and change the purpose of forest use for the project," Secretary Tran Hong Minh directed.
The Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project has a total length of 121km, divided into 2 investment phases.
Phase 1, Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway is invested with a length of more than 93km. The starting point is at Tan Thanh border gate intersection (Van Lang district, Lang Son province). The ending point is at National Highway 3 intersection (Chi Thao commune, Quang Hoa district, Cao Bang province). Deo Ca Group is the leading investor of the consortium implementing the phase 1 project.
The completed project will enhance domestic and international trade connections, contribute to improving local and regional competitiveness, and create momentum for socio-economic development and national security and defense.
