After overcoming the consequences of the flood, two cinnamon essential oil processing factories of Son Hai Agricultural Products Processing Export Company located in Vinh Yen and Tan Duong communes have resumed operations. This year, the cinnamon consumption market has encountered many difficulties, Son Hai's partners have limited orders, leading to lower export volume than the same period last year, and large inventories of cinnamon essential oil products. However, the Company still strives to maintain production, purchase cinnamon branches and leaves for local people at reasonable prices so that people can feel secure in sticking with cinnamon trees.
“The market for cinnamon essential oil products in the world has many fluctuations that have affected the consumption of the Company's products. However, the Company always accompanies the people of Bao Yen cinnamon area, because only when farmers feel secure in growing cinnamon trees will we have a stable source of raw materials for production,” affirmed Mr. Bui Ngoc San, Director of Son Hai Agricultural Products Processing and Export Company.
According to statistics, in Bao Yen district, there are currently 5 enterprises operating in the field of agricultural and forestry production and processing; 2 newly-invested enterprises are implementing production linkage projects in the area; 3 enterprises are completing procedures to apply for investment policies.

Along with that, gradually shift from small-scale, fragmented production to developing agricultural production in the direction of goods, from extensive agricultural development to intensive development, from quantity to quality. Create fundamental changes in scale, productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness of key agricultural and forestry products.
By 2030, forming agricultural commodity production areas according to value chains, increasing added value and sustainable production; connecting agriculture with processing, preservation industry and markets.
According to Ms. Nhu Thi Tam, to achieve this goal, the district has been and is continuing to focus on implementing synchronous solutions from mechanisms, policies to production organization, agricultural service development and market. In which, the most important is to build a sustainable and mutually beneficial link between businesses and people participating in production.
“Enterprises investing in agriculture in the district not only create jobs for local workers, but also create sustainable links with farmers, forming large-scale agricultural commodity production areas; promoting the emergence of collective economic models and cooperatives in communes and towns; becoming a focal point, helping small-scale producers participate in the agricultural production value chain,” said Ms. Nhu Thi Tam, Deputy Head of the district’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
With the results achieved in attracting investment and creating a chain of linkages in agricultural and forestry production in recent times; Bao Yen district is continuing to research, review and propose amendments and supplements to agricultural and forestry development policies, creating a favorable environment, attracting businesses to invest in developing production associated with processing and preserving agricultural products after harvest, creating a product consumption system according to the value chain. Thereby, contributing to the successful implementation of the targets of the District Party Congress resolution as well as building Bao Yen into a New Rural District by 2025.
