60 years of history

On February 3, 1965, Tuyen Quang Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee, the voice of the Party Committee, Government and People of Tuyen Quang published its first issue. This is a milestone marking the 60-year journey of building and developing Tuyen Quang Newspaper.

Over the past half century, with the function of being the voice of the Party Committee, the government, and the forum of the people of all ethnic groups in Tuyen Quang province, Tuyen Quang Newspaper has strived, constantly improved, and built an increasingly developed newspaper; excellently performed all assigned tasks, and made worthy contributions to the cause of national liberation, construction, and protection of the homeland and country through the ages.

Faced with the practical requirements of the country's development and integration, the 4.0 industrial revolution and the development trend of modern journalism, Tuyen Quang Newspaper has proactively taken shortcuts to information technology and modernized the journalism process.

The newspaper has changed from editorial management to content production, with the goal of building Tuyen Quang Newspaper into a strong multimedia, multi-platform press agency. From a black and white, 4-page, small-format newspaper, published only once a week in its early days, Tuyen Quang Newspaper has now become a multimedia, multi-platform press agency, organizing and operating a converging editorial office with many press products: Printed newspaper with 3 publications (regular printed newspaper; Tuyen Quang Weekend Newspaper; Tuyen Quang Highland Photo News); Tuyen Quang Electronic Newspaper; Tuyen Quang Electronic Newspaper English version and social platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Tiktok, Zalo, Instagram).

Printed newspapers are strongly innovated in the direction of specialization, organizing many special pages, topics, reports, special issues, impressive and attractive designs for readers to easily view and access information.

E-newspapers focus on applying technology to develop in a multimedia direction. Using new technology, artificial intelligence in producing press products. Typically using AI to read news; producing videos using smart devices; producing multimedia, multi-platform press works. In particular, the Newspaper has boldly applied technology to produce live TV programs. From 2020 to present, Tuyen Quang Newspaper has produced more than 180 live TV broadcasts, more than 200 livestreams on social networking platforms.

From 2020 to present, the newspaper has successively launched social media platforms including 5 Facebook pages, 1 YouTube channel, 1 Tiktok channel, 1 Zalo channel, 1 Instagram channel, 1 Podcast channel. Of which, the Tuyen Quang Newspaper online fanpage and the Newspaper's Tiktok channel have been given a blue tick and are in the Top 10 social media channels with the highest number of followers among local Party newspapers.

The quality of propaganda content on Tuyen Quang Newspaper has been affirmed through Central and local press awards. For 5 consecutive years (2019-2023), Tuyen Quang Newspaper won the National Press Award on Party building - Golden Hammer and Sickle Award (3 B prizes, 1 C prize and 1 consolation prize). For 2 consecutive years (2022, 2023), it won the National Press Award (1 Consolation prize, 1 C prize); B prize in the Political Writing Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views, along with many awards organized by central ministries, branches and the province.

Along with professional activities, Tuyen Quang Newspaper actively participates in social activities. The newspaper established and maintained the Nhip Cau Nhan Ai column, annually organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival of Love program. Thereby, thousands of gifts and scholarships were given to poor and disadvantaged students; gifts, school supplies, road construction, electricity installation and repair of schools in disadvantaged areas; coordinated the organization of medical examination and free medicine programs for the poor...

With outstanding achievements in 60 years of construction and development, Tuyen Quang Newspaper was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal (2004), Second Class (2009) and First Class (2014) from the President.

He suggested that Tuyen Quang Newspaper continue to innovate and further improve the quality of its publications, increase the application of modern journalism methods, new journalism technology, attractive and oriented information, proactively seek out readers, bring information, especially in-depth information to readers, worthy of being the political and ideological flag of the Party.

Those achievements have contributed significantly to the achievements in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security, building the Party and the political system of the province, turning Tuyen Quang from an underdeveloped province into a fairly developed province, creating an important premise and motivation for the province to firmly step on the path of development in the coming time.

To further improve the quality of activities, Provincial Party Secretary Ha Thi Nga suggested: Upholding the principles and purposes of the newspaper; closely following the political tasks, major and topical issues of the Party, the country and the province to comprehensively and deeply propagate, especially on the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system; protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting wrong views, untrue information, information that is not beneficial to the development of the country and the province. Being sensitive and timely in the work of orienting information to create widespread consensus among all levels, sectors, cadres, party members and people in the process of implementing policies and tasks for the development of the province.

Newspapers need to proactively grasp the situation at the grassroots level, detect problems from practice to have many articles that are full of life, promptly promote good models, good practices, typical examples of good people, good deeds, along with reflecting and criticizing negative phenomena, bad aspects in social life.

In addition, the Newspaper needs to focus on building a cultural environment in press agencies and journalists, worthy of professional, humane, and modern journalism. Building a team of leaders, cadres, reporters, and editors with strong political will, good moral qualities, and good professional qualifications, ensuring the inheritance and continuous development of the team of leaders and reporters.
