(Fatherland) - On November 23, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province coordinated with the Culture Newspaper to organize a workshop on "Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in Quang Ngai province".


The workshop was attended by 150 delegates representing ministries, branches, units and localities with more than 20 presentations on preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in Quang Ngai province as well as the Central region and the whole country.

The workshop aims to create a forum for discussion, sharing theories and practices, stating the current situation; proposing solutions related to the work of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in Quang Ngai province as well as localities across the country.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said: Vietnam is a multi-ethnic country with 54 ethnic groups living together. Each ethnic group has its own cultural identity, contributing to diversifying and creating more colors for Vietnamese culture, and all of those unique tangible and intangible cultural values ​​form cultural tourism resources, the foundation of Vietnam's attractive tourism products.

Maximizing the values ​​of heritage, in recent times, a number of historical sites and scenic spots have become attractive tourist destinations, welcoming millions of domestic and international tourists, earning tens of billions of VND. In addition, many intangible cultural values ​​have been exploited to build unique tourism products to serve the cultural and artistic enjoyment needs of tourists.

"The workshop has gathered many dedicated managers, leading experts and businesses. I hope that the speakers and delegates will share their knowledge and experience in developing cultural tourism and community tourism in areas where ethnic minorities live so that we can have a clearer view of the reality of preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in Quang Ngai province in particular and the whole country in general. Thereby, we will propose appropriate solutions and recommendations to promote those unique cultural values, turning them into attractive tourism products to serve domestic and international tourists," Mr. Khanh emphasized.

Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien, Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, said that along with its glorious historical tradition, Quang Ngai is also a land rich in cultural identity, a place where many ethnic groups converge and interact. Among them, ethnic minorities such as Cor, H're, Ca Dong... have been preserving unique cultural features, from costumes, cuisine, customs, to folk songs and traditional rituals, rich in identity, passed down and preserved through many generations.

The Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee shared that the workshop took place in the context of Quang Ngai province striving and determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, including the goal of promoting socio-economic development associated with preserving and promoting the unique traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities. This is not only a responsibility but also an opportunity for Quang Ngai to exploit the potential for sustainable tourism development, contributing to building a greener and more inclusive economy.

"The workshop is an opportunity for us to look at and evaluate the current situation, and at the same time find feasible solutions to connect cultural preservation with sustainable tourism development. Through the workshop, Quang Ngai province hopes to receive many constructive comments and solutions, both theoretical and practical, from scientists, experts and researchers so that the culture and folk arts of the ethnic groups in the mountainous areas of Quang Ngai province can be preserved and developed," said Mr. Hien.

Speaking at the workshop, Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper Nguyen Anh Vu emphasized that this workshop is an opportunity for the culture, sports and tourism sector and Quang Ngai province to consider, discuss and listen to proposals and recommendations for comprehensive and practical conservation and development solutions, in order to effectively preserve and promote good traditional cultural values ​​associated with tourism development as well as tourism development solutions in the coming time.

Mr. Vu suggested that delegates focus on discussing the following contents: Assessing the potential and good traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development; Clarifying the current situation of preserving and promoting good traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in Quang Ngai province as well as the Central region and the whole country; Risks and challenges in the development process and orientation of tourism development associated with cultural preservation; Training of tourism human resources in ethnic minority areas; Proposing specific mechanisms, policies, and solutions to effectively preserve and promote good traditional cultural values ​​associated with tourism development as well as solutions for tourism development in Quang Ngai in the coming time...

At the workshop, delegates were given opinions by experts and speakers on models and examples of good implementation of the work of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development; Training and fostering human resources to carry out the work of restoring, preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development;

Investment in building cultural and sports facilities in ethnic minority areas; Connecting tourist destinations in ethnic minority areas; Orienting tourism development associated with the restoration, preservation and promotion of fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities.

Proposing solutions to effectively implement the work of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with current tourism development.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai shared that the opinions and discussions at the workshop were extremely valuable and dedicated experiences for Quang Ngai province to continue to do a good job of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in Quang Ngai province.

"I also hope to continue to receive attention and cooperation in the coming time so that the culture of ethnic minorities in the mountainous areas of Quang Ngai province can be preserved and developed, lasting with cultural history, blending into the cultural flow of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam," Mr. Dung emphasized.

Within the framework of the workshop, on November 22, the program "Communication and promotion of Quang Ngai tourism" took place to promote destinations, tourism services, business connection opportunities, and attract tourists to Quang Ngai.

The delegates also visited and surveyed the Prime Minister Pham Van Dong Memorial Site; visited Go Co Village - a 3-star OCOP tourist destination, where Champa and Sa Huynh cultural values ​​are preserved; visited the Sa Huynh Cultural Exhibition House - where 700 valuable artifacts, images and documents are on display, an interesting place to visit and learn about the civilization that existed 2,000 - 3,000 years ago...
