On the evening of December 10, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union chaired and coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department and the Vietnam Journalists' Association to organize the closing ceremony and award the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam in 2023. Attending the award ceremony were Secretary of the Party Central Committee - Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Bui Thi Minh Hoai; leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, the Central Committee for Propaganda and Education, the Vietnam Journalists' Association; leaders of central ministries, departments and branches, and authors/groups of authors whose works were honored. |

The 2023 National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam (for the category of writing in print and electronic newspapers) is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and assigned to Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper, and the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank).
After more than 7 months of launching, there were 2,769 works, of which 1,521 were sent to be published on Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet electronic newspaper and 1,248 works were sent by more than 100 press agencies. Among them, many units sent a large number of works to participate such as: Nhan Dan Newspaper with 20 series of articles, VOV with nearly 10 series of articles, works, Nghe An Newspaper, Ha Tinh Newspaper, Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre...
From over 2,700 works, through selection, there were 150 best works, meeting the criteria and regulations of the award to enter the preliminary round. On that basis, the Preliminary Board met, evaluated and selected 55 best works and articles to enter the final round. Of these, 26 works received the highest scores to award the highest and thematic prizes with a total prize of up to 320 million VND.

According to the jury's assessment, the works participating in the award are rich in quantity, diverse in genre, and creative in presentation style. The articles and works span many genres, from political commentary, reflection, reportage to criticism, published in print and electronic newspapers. Among them, the topics of green agriculture, ecological agriculture, circular economy, collective economy, new rural construction, outstanding Vietnamese farmers, etc. are the ones that most journalists and authors focus on writing about.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan affirmed: The 2023 National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas in Vietnam is one of the practical and effective information and propaganda activities, creating a strong spread in communication work on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.

“The organization of the National Press Award for writing about agriculture, farmers and rural areas in Vietnam has a particularly important meaning, not only creating an environment for professional and non-professional writers who are journalists and readers nationwide but also making an important contribution to the propaganda and dissemination of the Party and State's policies and guidelines on agriculture, farmers and rural areas; promptly reflecting and replicating typical and outstanding models and examples in farmers, agricultural development and new rural construction; and remaining problems and difficulties in the fields of agriculture, farmers and rural areas, helping authorities have more information to advise and propose to competent authorities to issue increasingly more complete mechanisms, policies and solutions” - Comrade Luong Quoc Doan emphasized.
Launching the 2024 National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam, journalist Luu Quang Dinh - Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper emphasized that, based on the success and influence of the first award, the Organizing Committee launched the 2024 National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam with many innovations in terms of rules, upgrading the scale and value of the award.

Accordingly, the award is organized on a national scale, rich in content, diverse in genres, expanding in scope, participants, and attractive award structure. In particular, to increase the influence of the press award for agriculture, in addition to printed and electronic newspaper works, it is expected that in 2024 there will be additional categories for radio, television and press photo products.
