On the evening of October 12, the 9th National External Information Awards ceremony was solemnly held at the Hanoi Opera House.
Attending the ceremony were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work; members of the Party Central Committee, alternate members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of central and local ministries, departments, branches, leaders of press and publishing agencies and award-winning authors.
The Organizing Committee said it received 1,456 works/products, an increase of 30% compared to the previous award period.
Through two preliminary and final rounds, the Award Council awarded prizes to 110 outstanding works/products, including: 8 First prizes, 22 Second prizes, 30 Third prizes and 50 Encouragement prizes.

Dan Tri electronic newspaper was honored to win third prize with the series Vietnam is home , by the group of authors Ngoc Lan, Ha Trang, Minh Nhan and Ngoc Ngan.
Vietnam is home is the route 5 articles introducing international friends who silently inspire beautiful living in the flow of modern life. Regardless of skin color, language, nationality, they have attached to and loved Vietnam as their own homeland.
With sincere hearts, international "ambassadors" have also contributed and devoted to Vietnam in many fields, from economy, culture, cuisine, to tourism, education, and environment.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that foreign information work has made impressive progress.
Information is increasingly fast, comprehensive, and unique, serving as a bridge for the international community to clearly and correctly understand the Party and State's guidelines and policies; for countries and people around the world to share and support Vietnam's viewpoints on international issues; to promote the image of the country, its people, its history, its culture, and its development achievements.
The Prime Minister assessed that the honored works are truly outstanding, highly influential, and products full of passion, responsibility, and affection for Vietnam by all authors at home and abroad.

The Prime Minister requested relevant agencies to increase investment in foreign information work, mobilize the strength of the people, especially the young, so that "each citizen is an ambassador in foreign information work; each friend across the five continents must become a bridge closely connecting the world with Vietnam".
"In the face of the requirements and tasks of the new development stage, I hope and believe that foreign affairs and foreign information work will promote the achievements that have been made; continue to have new developments to contribute to the successful implementation of the foreign policy of the Party and State, and contribute more to the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland," said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
