The resumption of this route not only strengthens Vietnam Airlines' position in the international market but also contributes to expanding its flight network and improving the airline's operational efficiency.
In the first phase, Vietnam Airlines will operate two flights per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays using Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft. From July 2026, the number of flights will increase to three per week to meet the increasing travel demand of passengers.
On the occasion of its opening, Vietnam Airlines is offering a promotional program with round-trip tickets from Hanoi to Moscow starting from only VND16,419,000, including taxes and fees. Passengers will receive a 50% discount on the first prepaid baggage item and a 30% discount on the pre-selected seat fee. Russia has always been an important market for Vietnam's tourism and trade. In 2024, the total number of visitors between the two countries will reach more than 220,000, 2.3 times higher than in 2023 but still only 26% compared to 2019. The direct flight from Hanoi to Moscow will not only strengthen air connectivity but also create favorable conditions for a strong recovery of tourism and trade between the two countries.
The restoration of the flight route not only provides passengers with more convenient and safe travel options with quality services, but also contributes to promoting bilateral cooperation in many areas such as trade, investment and cultural exchange. This is also an important milestone in Vietnam Airlines' international flight network development strategy, especially in the year of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam's national airline.
In 2025, Vietnam Airlines plans to open and restore 15 international routes to important destinations such as Italy, Russia, Denmark, China, India, Japan, Korea, UAE, etc. With the orientation of innovating and expanding the flight network, Vietnam Airlines is gradually affirming its pioneering role in connecting Vietnam with the world, contributing to promoting global economic integration.
