The Express newspaper opened a poll for the best tennis player of 2023 in both the male and female categories. Accordingly, Djokovic completely dominated with 64% of the votes.
Nole left second place Sinner far behind with 19% of the vote. Meanwhile, Alcaraz was only third with 16% of the vote.
In the women's category, Swiatek was honored with 47% of the votes. The second place was American tennis player Coco Gauff with 27% of the votes.
Novak Djokovic will only participate in 12 tournaments in 2023. However, the 36-year-old has been very successful and won the 7 tournaments he participated in.
In particular, the 7th ATP Finals title in his career helped Nole surpass Roger Federer to become the most successful male tennis player in this tournament. Regretfully for Djokovic in 2023, he could not help the Serbian team win the Davis Cup.
In women's singles, Iga Swiatek is the tennis player with the most titles this year with 6 crowns.
After 10 years, fans have witnessed a female tennis player win the WTA Finals, Grand Slam, WTA 1000, WTA 500 and WTA 250 in the same season. The last person before Iga Swiatek to achieve this feat was Serena Williams.
