Official handover of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park to Hanoi

Hoa Lac High-Tech Park is an important project assigned by the Government to the Ministry of Science and Technology to implement and manage in order to enhance the national science and technology potential. This is the first high-tech park established by the Prime Minister since 1998.

The handover ceremony is an important milestone in the development process of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, concretizing the Party's policy on developing science, technology and innovation, creating a foundation for the socio -economic development of Hanoi Capital.

Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh signed the Minutes of transfer of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park from the Ministry of Science and Technology to Hanoi People's Committee.

Over the past 25 years of formation, construction and development, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park has attracted 111 investment projects (including 96 domestic projects and 15 foreign investment projects) with a total registered investment capital of over 111,500 billion VND.

Investors have researched, transferred, mastered and developed high technologies in 55 high-tech groups, 31 high-tech product groups in the List of high technologies prioritized for investment and development and high-tech products encouraged for development.

Hoa Lac High-Tech Park is currently gathering many large Vietnamese enterprises and technology corporations as well as investment projects of foreign corporations and enterprises to invest and develop.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park Management Board, the Hanoi People's Committee and other ministries and branches that have joined hands to build the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park to develop as it is today.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, although the number of investment projects is still modest, since its establishment, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park has been a bridge to receive and transfer and move towards creating new high technologies, attracting research institutes, large universities, national innovation centers, business incubation centers... and production projects in the fields of IT, electronics, biology, precision mechanics... to invest and develop.

In particular, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park has initially formed a research - training - production connection chain, forming a link between research institutes, universities and enterprises.

This is the success of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park compared to other high-tech parks in the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested that after taking over Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, the Hanoi People's Committee must ensure the inheritance and promotion of the achievements, ensure stability, and avoid interruptions in the construction, development, and management of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park.

At the same time, the city needs to mobilize more resources to create momentum to promote the development of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, ensuring the important role of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park in the national strategy for science, technology and innovation development until 2030.

Accepting the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee affirmed his determination to mobilize and effectively promote resources from the central budget, local budget and social resources to continue developing Hoa Lac High-Tech Park in accordance with the set orientation and goals.

According to Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, right from the first days of project development, the Ministry of Science and Technology has firmly directed the goals and orientations for developing the national high-tech park from the stage of selecting investors.

Hoa Lac High-Tech Park does not try to fill up but rather screens, evaluates, and selects reputable investors with modern advanced technology, high science and technology content, applicability, and low potential for environmental pollution.

According to Minister Huynh Thanh Dat, the Ministry of Science and Technology believes that after receiving the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, the Hanoi People's Committee will continue to maintain the goal of focusing on developing science, technology and innovation; ensuring the inheritance and promotion of achievements gained in the process of construction and development since its establishment.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat also expects Hanoi to focus on building and developing Hoa Lac High-Tech Park to become the country's core for innovation, research, development, technology transfer and the core area of ​​Hoa Lac urban area.

This will become a place of intellectual concentration and advanced technology, a center for training high-quality human resources, and a center for scientific research and high technology of the whole country.

Ho Chi Minh City aims to spend 2% or more on science and technology in its total budget . Ho Chi Minh City aims to ensure that spending on science and technology is 2% or more in its total budget. Social investment in science and technology reaches an average of 1% or more of GRDP.
