In his opening speech and introduction to the workshop, Mr. Pham Ba Hung, Principal of Hue College of Tourism, said that in the context of globalization and the strong development of information technology, digital transformation has become an inevitable and revolutionary trend in all areas of economic and social life, including the tourism industry and tourism human resource training. The remarkable development of technology not only creates changes in the way of managing and operating businesses in the tourism industry but also poses an urgent requirement for digital transformation in tourism vocational training to meet the needs of a quality labor market in the digital age.
According to Mr. Pham Ba Hung, digital transformation in tourism vocational training not only helps improve the quality of education but also creates conditions for students to access new knowledge and skills, in line with the development trend of the global tourism industry. However, in addition to opportunities, digital transformation in tourism vocational training also poses many challenges. One of the biggest challenges is investment in infrastructure and information technology. This requires large financial resources along with commitment from training institutions and the Government. In addition, developing human resources with skills and pedagogical capacity to teach in a digital environment is also a challenge, requiring a professional and systematic teacher training program.
"Digital transformation in tourism vocational training is a challenging process that requires the participation of many parties' efforts but also holds great promise, opening up opportunities to improve the quality of education and meet the needs of the tourism industry in the future.
Through the workshop "Digital transformation in tourism vocational training", we hope to create a forum for stakeholders to share knowledge, experience and discuss together to find effective solutions for digital transformation in tourism vocational training, contributing to the development of Vietnam's tourism industry in the new era; including state management agencies on tourism, training institutions, experts in the tourism sector, businesses, communities...", Mr. Pham Ba Hung emphasized.
Director of the Department of Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Le Anh Tuan said that in recent times, tourism human resource training and development activities have achieved remarkable developments. The system of training facilities, enrollment scale, training models, methods, and training quality have gradually met the requirements of human resources to serve the practical development of the industry.

This workshop will be a place to discuss, evaluate the current situation and propose solutions in implementing digital transformation in tourism vocational training today; at the same time, there will be accurate and correct recommendations for management agencies in creating appropriate mechanisms and policies for this activity to achieve the highest efficiency.
Specifically, at the workshop, delegates studied more than 20 presentations and discussed some main contents such as: Sharing the current situation and recommending solutions for applying digital technology in tourism management and vocational training; Applying digital transformation in state management of tourism vocational training; Applying digital transformation in enrollment and student management; Designing, building and managing training programs on digital platforms; Improving learners' experiential skills based on technology; Exchanging experiences in digital transformation in tourism business management; Trends and experiences in digital transformation in vocational education of some training institutions in the world.
According to the Organizing Committee, the diverse number of presentations clearly reflected the deep interest and common desire of all stakeholders in improving the quality of tourism vocational training through digital transformation.
