Steering Committee 35 of Ha Long City conducts drills to combat, prevent and handle bad and toxic information on the internet and social networks

On September 19, Steering Committee 35 of Ha Long City organized a conference to rehearse the fight, prevention and handling of bad and toxic information on the internet and social networks in 2024. Attending and directing the conference was comrade Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 35.

At the program, Steering Committee 35 of Ha Long City conducted a drill to combat, prevent and handle bad and toxic information according to hypothetical situations; spreading positive information according to the motto "Using beauty to eliminate ugliness".

Ha Long is the first district-level locality in the country to organize a pilot conference to practice combating, preventing, and handling bad and toxic information on the internet and social networks. The conference aims to improve the leadership and direction capacity of Party committees and organizations, the advisory role of the City Party Committee's Steering Committee 35; and the ability to coordinate among forces in combating, preventing, and handling information against the Party, State, and regime on the internet and social networks.

Delegates participate in a simulated scenario exercise.

In addition, the conference aims to gradually specify the coordination process between forces, improve the capacity of directing, organizing activities, handling situations related to complex and sensitive cases that are of public interest; new issues arising on the internet and social networks in Ha Long City to promptly resolve, not allowing a media crisis to occur in the area.

Speaking at the rehearsal conference, comrade Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 35 highly appreciated the preparation and organization of the rehearsal by the Steering Committee 35 of Ha Long City.

Comrade Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the Steering Committee of 35 provinces spoke at the conference.

He requested to continue to thoroughly, deeply and regularly grasp the importance of the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation; effectively fight against fake news, false and malicious information, and erroneous and hostile viewpoints; identify this as an important and vital task of the Party and the political system; and as a voluntary, regular, long-term and drastic task.

He emphasized that from the Ha Long City rehearsal conference, the provincial level will organize a rehearsal conference scheduled for November to continue spreading the spiritual strength of "Discipline and Unity" of the tradition of Quang Ninh mining workers and the tradition of the coal industry. This will be followed by a rehearsal of all provincial Party Committees with the scale, method, scope, nature and situation developed by the Steering Committee 35 at all levels and approved by the Provincial Steering Committee 35. He requested the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to synthesize the registration of the units and advise the Provincial Steering Committee 35 on specific instructions.

Steering Committee 35 of districts, towns, city Party Committees and Party Committees directly under the province, members of the Steering Committee, expert groups, 35 collaborators..., continue to promote their roles, do a good job of ideological work, improve the effectiveness of positive information dissemination; resolutely and persistently fight against fake news, untrue, toxic information, wrong and hostile viewpoints in the press, media and cyberspace. At the same time, promote the dissemination of positive and official information; provide complete and timely information on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's and the province's policies and laws, and issues of public concern...

On the other hand, continue to thoroughly implement Regulation No. 85-QD/TW of the Secretariat on cadres and party members establishing and using personal electronic information pages on the Internet and social networks, in conjunction with the implementation of Directive No. 42-CT/TU dated August 4, 2020 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on strengthening the leadership and direction of the Party, the effectiveness of State management in combating, preventing, handling, removing, and eliminating fake, untrue, and toxic information on cyberspace about Quang Ninh province; build exemplary party cells for thematic activities 35; successfully build models of "People trust - Party nominates", "Party cell 35", "4 good party cells", "4 good grassroots party organizations" throughout the province.

He requested the Steering Committee 35 of Ha Long City to absorb the opinions and suggestions of the delegates and complete the training documents; together with the Steering Committee 35 of the province, organize a training conference on combating, preventing and handling bad and toxic information on the internet and social networks related to Quang Ninh province in 2024.
