According to Dan Tri reporters in Hanoi on the morning of August 22 (the 7th day of the 7th lunar month), the tea shops all made more red bean tea than usual. At 10am, the tea shops began to be crowded with customers, most of whom were waiting to enjoy the red bean tea.

Ms. Nguyen Tuyet Le (owner of a sweet soup shop on Hang Can Street, Hanoi) shared that her family woke up at 3am to prepare goods for the Cowherd and Weaver Girl Day. Last year, her shop was always "out of stock" of red bean sweet soup, so this year she prepared twice as much as last year.

On Qixi Festival, Ms. Le can sell thousands of cups of tea, mainly red bean tea. The prices of red bean tea range from 25,000 to 50,000 VND/box, depending on the size.

"Both of our stores have prepared double the amount of goods from last year to serve everyone, especially young couples. It's only this morning, but the stores have already sold more orders than usual. Today, the two stores can serve about 1,000 cups of tea," said Ms. Le.

Most stores sell red bean dishes very well.

According to Ms. Le, legend has it that every year on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month, the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl get to meet each other to reminisce about their beautiful love story. Therefore, on this day, couples often go together and come here to eat red beans as a wish for good luck in their love.

Many people believe that eating red beans on Qixi Festival can help them "get rid of being single", and those who already have a lover will have a more favorable love life. Therefore, it is understandable that single people flock to buy sweet soup. Even the elderly still buy red bean sweet soup because they love the story of love on Qixi Festival.

"In addition to the traditional daily desserts, my shop has two best-selling red bean-related dishes: yogurt with red beans and red bean dessert, the prices are the same as usual," Ms. Le laughed.

Besides the red bean dessert becoming the "center of attention", other desserts are also equally popular.

Ms. Lan Anh (owner of the sweet soup shop on Hang Bo street) also sold a lot of sweet soup this morning so she seemed very happy.

"I learned about the Qixi Festival a few years ago thanks to some young people who came to eat sweet soup and told me about it. At first, many sweet soup shop owners did not know about this trend among young people, so when they saw people rushing to buy red bean sweet soup, they were quite curious.

I've been busy all morning, without a break. I don't know if the rumors are true or not, but today I suddenly sell more than usual," Lan Anh humorously said. She also wishes there were a few Qixi Festivals throughout the year so that everyone would flock to eat sweet soup.

Hunt for red bean tea to find a lover soon

Like many other young people, early in the morning, Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong (Gia Lam, Hanoi) went into town to buy and enjoy red bean sweet soup with the hope of "getting rid of being single".

Ms. Huong saw on the internet that eating red bean sweet soup would help her "escape being single", so she was determined to try this type of sweet soup.

"I saw online that eating red bean sweet soup on this day will help you avoid being single, so this morning I wanted to try it out to see what the results would be. This is the first year I've eaten red bean sweet soup and I was surprised that I had to wait in line early in the morning because there were so many people buying it.
