Outside the gate of Quang Trung Secondary School, Van My Ward, Ngo Quyen District (Hai Phong City), there are many shops selling prepackaged snacks with foreign words printed on the packaging.

According to the report, the incident occurred on the morning of November 27. At that time, three parents of students in class 7C7 reported to the homeroom teacher that their children had stomach aches due to eating candy bought by a classmate outside the school gate.

2/3 of the students were taken to Ngo Quyen District General Hospital by their families for examination. As a result, the doctors concluded that 2 students had digestive disorders, but fortunately, their health was not affected.

After receiving feedback from parents, the homeroom teacher of class 7C7 asked the students in the class and learned that some other students who ate the strange candy also had stomach aches.

Ms. Vu Hoa Hue, Principal of Quang Trung Secondary School, said that on November 27, the school reported the incident to the People's Committee and the Van My Ward Health Station. However, the next day, when the Van My Ward inspection team visited the shops selling candy in front of the school gate, the owners had stopped selling this type of candy.

According to Ms. Hue, currently the two students with digestive disorders are both attending school normally and the school has sent a notice to all homeroom teachers to thoroughly educate students and inform parents to remind their children not to eat candy of unknown origin, to avoid health risks.

Speaking to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Mr. Dang Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of Ngo Quyen District People's Committee, said that the district recommends that parents and students should not buy or eat strange foods of unknown origin displayed outside the school gate area to avoid affecting their health. In addition, the district People's Committee also requires wards to regularly inspect and remind grocery stores as well as mobile food stalls around the school gate area.
