The Vietnamese national team participating in the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in the UK has 6 students. The team's achievements are 2 Silver medals, 3 Bronze medals and 1 Certificate of Merit.
Accordingly, the two Silver medals belonged to Tran Duy (grade 12, University of Education High School for the Gifted) and Tran Minh Hoang (grade 11, Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted).
Two Bronze medals went to Pham Tran Minh Duc (grade 12, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong), Nguyen Dang Dung (grade 11, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences) and Nguyen Van Hoang (grade 12, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted).
Ta Duc Anh (grade 12, University of Education High School for the Gifted) received a Certificate of Merit.

According to an announcement from the Ministry of Education and Training, some members of the Vietnamese team had health problems but the students still achieved good results.
IMO 2024 will be held from July 11-22 with the participation of 109 delegations from 109 countries and territories. The total number of contestants is 609.
Candidates go through 2 official exam days, with 4.5 hours/day.

According to regulations, the Organizing Committee will award official prizes to 50% of participating candidates and certificates of merit to candidates who achieve the maximum score for a problem.
This year's exam has a challenging structure with 2 combination problems, 1 at medium level and 1 at difficult level.
