On February 29, the People's Committee of Nguyen Du Ward (Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi) held a conference to collect opinions from experts and people on the "Urban design project for the area around Thien Quang Lake".
After listening to the design consultant presenting the project report, many people agreed with the policy of Hai Ba Trung district in renovating the Thien Quang lake area. Some opinions also frankly contributed to the project implementation to truly bring about efficiency for local development and convenience for the people.
Speaking here, Mr. Duong Minh Duc, Chairman of Nguyen Du Ward People's Committee said that the urban design project for the area around Thien Quang Lake basically solves the current limitations in urban design.
According to Mr. Duc, the project aims to make the items around Thien Quang Lake, in addition to being clean, beautiful, and convenient, also meet the living needs of the people. "To meet that criterion, we need to consult with relevant units to adjust the project accordingly," Mr. Duc shared.
Mr. Duc said that along with the renovation of Thien Quang Lake, the area is also implementing projects to build and renovate Thong Nhat Park, renovate Thanh Nien Palace and restore and promote the value of the cluster of 3 pagodas Thien Quang - Quang Hoa - Phap Hoa.
Chairman of Nguyen Du Ward People's Committee said that the above projects are being implemented synchronously to promote urban and architectural values.
According to Mr. Duong Minh Duc, people in Nguyen Du ward basically support the implementation of the urban design project for the area around Thien Quang lake.
Sharing at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tien Quang, Head of the Urban Management Department of Hai Ba Trung District, said that the renovation of the area around Thien Quang Lake aims to promote the landscape value in unification with Thong Nhat Park.
The design project has oriented to build a central square in the Thien Quang lake area. This square is the place where the main activities of Tran Nhan Tong walking street as well as the general activities of Hai Ba Trung district take place.
Along with ensuring green space and water surface, people coming to Thien Quang lake area will be able to use free water and wifi.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Nguyen Tien Quang also explained the reason for proposing to build 5 squares in the Thien Quang Lake area. According to Mr. Quang, we should not pay too much attention to the concept of "square" and forget that this is essentially an open space to create highlights and themes.
"However, after consulting with the people and experts, if we find it unreasonable, we can make adjustments before submitting it to the competent authority for approval," he said.
The Head of the Urban Management Department of Hai Ba Trung District also said that the project was built with the criteria of minimizing the impact on water and trees. The design almost keeps the water surface area intact, maintains the original state of trees, only adds decorative trees and flowers and embellishes the space to make it more beautiful and modern.
