(NLDO) - After eating 4 scallops for 1.4 million VND, an anonymous account posted on social media to call on "everyone to avoid this restaurant".
On February 1 (the 4th day of Tet), the People's Committee of Ward 2, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province and related units worked with the owner of O.D (Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Vung Tau City) after this restaurant was "accused" by tourists on social networks.
Previously, an anonymous account posted on a social networking group about a bad experience when visiting a restaurant in Vung Tau City.
Specifically, this person shared (original text): "When going to Vung Tau, everyone should avoid this restaurant. 4 scallops cost 1.44 million and was so scary. Rumor has it that this restaurant has the same owner as the Night Market Seafood restaurant, which is often criticized." Along with that is a picture of the bill at the restaurant.
According to this bill, on the evening of January 31 (the third day of Tet), a customer visited O.D restaurant to eat. Grilled Japanese scallops with scallion oil were priced at 1.2 million VND/kg; Thai hotpot with stingray was 250,000 VND... The total bill was over 1.7 million VND, of which 1.2kg of Japanese scallops cost over 1.4 million VND.
In the comments below, this anonymous account also added that at first he intended to order 6 scallops, but then the staff said that because the scallops were big, he should eat 4 first. However, when he went to pay, he was shocked because 4 Japanese scallops cost more than 1.4 million VND.
After the article was posted on social media, many people shared and commented on it, and the article was re-shared by several other groups. Many people said that the price of 4 scallops at over 1.4 million VND was too expensive. Some people advised tourists to report it to local authorities for handling.
As soon as the article was published, Ward 2 People's Committee received the information and then sent a delegation to work with this restaurant.
It is known that at the time of the ward inspection, this facility had posted the selling price of goods, presented documents related to the operation and invoices for the purchase of goods. According to the authorities, the price of Japanese scallops imported by this facility was 920,000 VND/kg.
The authorities have recorded the entire incident, worked with the restaurant representative and continued to handle the case according to regulations.
