On the morning of August 4, at the Children's Hospital 2, 30 soldiers and youth union members of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Force (PCCC-CHCN), Ho Chi Minh City Police helped Tran Dang Trung Quan (7 years old, living in Cu Chi district) with acute myeloid leukemia, realize his dream of becoming a firefighter.
Quan's clothes are also tailored to fit his small figure.
According to Captain Do Ngoc Duc - Secretary of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Youth Union, Ho Chi Minh City Police, we knew Trung Quan had a special love for his job when we went to the Social Work Department, Children's Hospital 2 to verify his case. With the aim of supporting him to realize his dream of becoming a firefighter, we reported to our superiors to make his dream come true, giving him more strength to fight and cope with the disease.
Baby Trung Quan is ready to be a firefighter
“Trung Quan is the first child patient to have the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force, Ho Chi Minh City Police, come to the hospital to support him in realizing his dream. Soldiers and youth union members of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force, Ho Chi Minh City Police supported Trung Quan with costumes, technical operations, and basic skills to transform into a fire prevention and rescue police officer,” Captain Do Ngoc Duc informed, adding that the fire truck model was brought by Duong Tri Hao, a 4th year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, for the child to experience. This model has similar functions to a regular fire truck.
Baby Trung Quan and his "teammates"
Ms. Dang Thi Kim Loan (Trung Quan's mother) said that before, the baby had many bruises on his body but did not think he was sick. By April 2023, Quan was getting weaker so the family took him to a higher level hospital for examination and was directed to Children's Hospital 2.
As soon as she was admitted to the hospital on April 26, the baby was examined by doctors and diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. When she learned that her child was seriously ill, she temporarily quit her job and stayed at the hospital to take care of her child. Loan herself is also suffering from many illnesses, and the baby's father sells lottery tickets.
