Accordingly, at noon on June 9, patients KVT and KXN (50 years old, both residing in Tan Dien B hamlet, Thanh Tung commune, Dam Doi district, Ca Mau) were admitted to Ca Mau General Hospital in critical condition, requiring dialysis. By the evening of June 10, patient KXB (33 years old) was also taken to this hospital by his family in serious condition.
The patients’ families said that 2 days before being admitted to the hospital, all 3 of them drank alcohol with another person. After finishing the alcohol they bought, they took a bottle of alcohol (hand sanitizer) mixed with water to continue drinking.
A day later, all four people had headaches, fatigue, and vomiting but did not go to the doctor. Later, one person died at home, so the family took the three patients to Ca Mau General Hospital.
