On the morning of January 24, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to award recruitment decisions to candidates who passed the city's civil servant recruitment exam from excellent graduates and young scientists in 2023.
Born and raised in a family with a tradition of teaching, new teacher Tran Quang Anh dreamed of becoming a teacher since childhood. For the young man, a teacher is not only someone who imparts knowledge but also inspires and educates students on personality and ethics.
"The policy of recruiting teachers from excellent students is a wide-open opportunity for all pedagogical students, helping them soon get their dream job and be assigned a job position commensurate with their abilities, contributing to the city's education career," Quang Anh shared.
Similarly, for Luu Van Khoa, a bachelor of mathematics education at Dalat University, being recruited as a civil servant and finding a job that suits his strengths in a large, dynamic, and creative city like Ho Chi Minh City is a source of pride.
"Entering a new stage, I know I need to continue to make more efforts to complete my tasks in a special working environment like a specialized school. I plan to work while continuing to study for a master's degree in mathematics to improve my knowledge and skills," Van Khoa expressed.
Speaking at the decision-giving ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that this is the first time the education and training sector of Ho Chi Minh City has recruited teachers from excellent students according to Decree 140 of the Government.
"The candidates have met many strict criteria of the recruitment board, and passed the interview round. However, studying at a teacher training college and teaching in practice are very different, requiring young people to make efforts and learn from their senior colleagues. I hope that young teachers will overcome the initial barriers and soon integrate into the new working environment to contribute to the training and nurturing of excellent students in the city," the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent a message.
According to Tong Phuoc Loc, Head of the Department of Personnel Organization (HCMC Department of Education and Training), teachers recruited from excellent students will receive 100% of their salary during their probationary period; an additional allowance equal to 100% of their salary according to their current salary coefficient for 5 years; an allowance of 70% of their salary according to their current rank or grade for teachers working at specialized high schools; priority will be given to training and fostering basic knowledge of political theory, state management and specialized knowledge of education; priority will be given to performing scientific and technological research tasks, programs, projects and proposals from school level and above.
In addition, teachers also receive additional income according to Resolution 98/2023 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.
According to the assignment decisions of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Tran Quang Anh will take on duties at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted and Luu Van Khoa will take on duties at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted.
The probationary period for the two teachers is 12 months from the effective date of the decision.
Representative of the receiving unit, Mr. Nguyen Minh, Principal of Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, said that the unit will create the best conditions for teachers to promote their pedagogical capacity and carry out the key training tasks of the specialized school.
