The 2023 revenue of 169 Sao Khue Award nominees will reach over 73,000 billion VND, equivalent to more than 3 billion USD.
On April 13, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) solemnly held the Sao Khue Award 2024 ceremony. The award was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Attending the award ceremony were leaders of the Central Economic Commission, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Planning and Investment, along with over 500 delegates who are leaders, officers and employees of more than 100 digital technology enterprises whose products and services were honored.
The 21st Sao Khue Award voting program was officially launched on January 9, 2024. After nearly 3 months of launching the application process, the 2024 Sao Khue Award continued to record a "new record" in the largest number of registered nominations ever, with 340 nominations.
In the Preliminary round, the Organizing Committee selected and pre-qualified applications that did not meet the requirements and criteria, consulted on applications, and adjusted them to appropriate groups/fields. The total number of nominations participating in the actual presentation round was 271 nominations from 147 businesses/units.
Through 3 preliminary rounds, presentations and the Final Selection Conference, the National Final Selection Council chaired by Dr. Nguyen Quan, former Minister of Science and Technology, and a panel of 37 experts selected and awarded the Sao Khue Award 2024 to 169 nominations from 117 enterprises, including: 3 Excellent solutions for digital transformation of the government and authorities; 13 Excellent nominations to help improve and enhance culture and quality of life of the community; 30 nominations to promote the market and consumption; 28 solutions for digital transformation organized by enterprises; 17 nominations to support economic sectors and large enterprises; 22 excellent technology platforms and infrastructures; 23 Excellent digital services and 33 typical innovative products and projects.
In particular, the Final Selection Council selected 11 nominees to award the Sao Khue Award 2024 - 5-star rating and 10 best nominees to award the top 10 Sao Khue Awards 2024. According to VINASA data, the 2023 revenue of 169 nominees winning the Sao Khue Award reached over 73,000 billion VND (equivalent to more than 3 billion USD), accounting for nearly 30% of the revenue of the entire software and IT services industry in Vietnam in 2023.
In terms of promoting research, development and strong application of AI, the Sao Khue Award 2024 has 8 specialized AI platforms and solutions, but according to statistics, more than 90% of products and services have integrated AI applications to support businesses, organizations and people. Industries and fields are implementing digitalization very quickly and strongly. Big data is being created faster and more. This is one of the very good conditions for research, application and development of AI in Vietnam in the coming time.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of VINASA, said that the whole world is undergoing digital transformation and green transformation. The Vietnamese Government has identified digital transformation and green growth as two core elements in the process of restructuring the economy and transforming the growth model.
In the development of the global semiconductor industry, Vietnam is the country chosen for the upcoming development strategy with great advantages in human resources and geopolitics. Digital technology enterprises are facing great opportunities, and also need great creative efforts, spirit, and determination. "I expect that in the coming years, Sao Khue will see excellent platforms, services, and solutions in semiconductors, digital and green transformation, creating a new development miracle for the industry, contributing to creating a new growth miracle for Vietnam", said Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa.
First held in 2003, the Sao Khue Awards have so far honored 1,715 individuals, businesses, and outstanding IT products, services, and solutions (including the number of nominations awarded in 2024).
