For the third consecutive day, Tri An Hydropower Plant will open more water discharge gates through the spillway to regulate the reservoir.
On September 25, Tri An Hydropower Company (Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai) announced an increase in water discharge through the spillway to regulate the reservoir. According to hydrological information at 8:00 a.m. the same day, the water level of Tri An Lake reached 60.09m, the water level downstream at the plant reached 5.7m. The water flow through the spillway reached 480m 3 /s and the flow through the power turbine reached 830m 3 /s. According to Tri An Hydropower Company, the water flow to the lake is currently over 1,400m 3 /s. It is expected that in the next 1-2 days, the water flow to the lake will remain over 1,300m 3 /s. To ensure flood prevention capacity, combined with the low water level downstream of the river at Bien Hoa hydrological station (downstream of Dong Nai River), below 1.5m, Tri An Hydropower Company will increase the amount of water released to regulate the reservoir. Accordingly, at 2:00 p.m. the same day, Tri An Hydropower Plant opened the fourth water discharge gate with a total flow of 640m3 /s. In addition, the water flow through the turbine generator was from 800-850m3 /s, increasing the total water discharge to the downstream of Dong Nai River to 1,440 - 1,490m3 /s. Mr. Vo Tan Nhan - Director of Tri An Hydropower Company - said that depending on the weather and water level downstream of Dong Nai River, the company can change the water discharge through the spillway. The company informed the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue at all levels, and relevant local authorities. Thereby, there is direction, coordination and notification for people in the downstream area of the reservoir to proactively take preventive measures to avoid possible damage.
