144 top Vietnamese and international golfers compete at the "BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024"

On the afternoon of July 30, the People's Committee of Da Nang City coordinated with relevant units to hold a press conference to inform about the "Asian Development Golf Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024".

Accordingly, the Asian Golf Development Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 is hosted by Da Nang City in coordination with BRG Group for the third consecutive year with a prize of up to 100,000 USD.

After 2 years of successful organization, the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 will continue to take place from August 29 - 31 at Legend Da Nang Golf Resort with the participation of 144 leading Vietnamese and international golfers.

Speaking at the press conference, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 will bring golf lovers classy shots from professional golfers along with many attractive and unique sideline activities.

Consecutively hosting the Asian Golf Development Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship Danang for 3 consecutive years 2022, 2023 and 2024, contributes to affirming Da Nang's position as "Asia's leading event - festival destination".

"This is also an important milestone in developing the city's golf tourism potential to become one of the leading golf tourism destinations in Asia and the world , contributing to promoting the development of high-quality tourism, in line with the city's tourism development orientation," Mr. Cuong emphasized.

The BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 takes place from August 29-31 at Legend Da Nang Golf Resort with the participation of 144 leading Vietnamese and international golfers.

According to the Organizing Committee, in 2024, BRG Group will continue to accompany the city as the title sponsor. The prize value for season 3 will continue to be maintained at 100,000 USD with the participation of 25,000 USD from the tournament's partner, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank), and the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort & Convention Center hotel complex, a world-class resort as the official hotel of the tournament.

Mr. Mark Reeves, Deputy General Director of BRG Group, shared that the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang is an important part of the group's strategy with the goal of elevating Danang to become a leading golf tourism destination in the region and the world.

According to Mr. Ken Kudo, the tournament witnessed the appearance of many young champions and gradually became popular with ADT members, many young golfers wanted to challenge themselves on the Legend Da Nang Golf Resort course and lift the trophy to mark their career prospects on the Asian Development Tour.

The defending champion of the 2022 BRG Open Golf Championship Danang is Chinese golfer Chen Guxin, and in 2023 it is Australian golfer Aaron Wilkin.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism, shared that the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang is one of the initiatives and cooperative efforts to promote Da Nang golf tourism, restoring the tourism economy from 2022 right after the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the advantage of owning many high-class golf courses in the region along with the strong development of golf tourism in key international markets, Da Nang identifies the important position of golf tourism in the strategy of specialized market segmentation. In the first 6 months of 2024, the total number of golf rounds of 3 golf courses in Da Nang reached 88,502 rounds, an increase of more than 4,000 rounds compared to the same period in 2023 (84,327 rounds), Legend Danang Golf Resort course dominated with more than 59,000 rounds.

Within the framework of the event, Da Nang city organized a survey program on destinations and golf tourism products from August 27 to 30 with the participation of golf tour operators from Taiwan (China), Australia, Japan and Southeast Asian countries (Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia); Organized a Professional - Amateur Golf Exchange Tournament (Pro - Ams) and a Da Nang Tourism Experience Program within the framework of the tournament.
